A potential flip to ND. He plays highschool in Florida and Notre Dame was a close second when he committed to Auburn. He just recently stated that he is going to wait until the end of his season
to choose between Auburn and Notre Dame.
He also said that Notre Dame has been recruiting him like Auburn used to. And he added "just talkin"

*** I believe that because of ND's tenacious recruiting of Caleb and ND's big win against Clemson that Caleb will flip to ND.

Everybody who is somebody has offered him. He comes from a Catholic high school. Absolutely, already close to 300 lbs after a couple of years he will be 315 lbs.

The crystal balls are balling for ND. I have a good feeling he is about to flip. Once again, his offer list is off the charts including the SEC heavy weights.

We ND fans tend to think all of our three star recruits are underrated. guys like Kia don’t get to the rivals camps and so they are a bit of an unknown quantity for the evaluators. Guys like Alt have simply played a different position in HS than what he will play in college, and so his rating as A TE was likely lower than it would be if he played tackle like he will in college. But Caleb Johnson is a head scratcher for Me. Has great size, great length, excellent footwork, plays tough and strong. Really think he is seriously underrated, and don’t know why.

4 star on some sites, 3 on others. That typically means they have not got a good look or they have not made all the camps.

Coaches always know, his offer list tells it all. In the end, i would guess a solid 4 star and in a few years a monster on the field

Interesting the staff has gotten back into Florida with Riley and now Johnson. No Florida commits in the '19 or '20 class.

ND's track record with Florida recruits has been mixed at best during the Kelly years. Hopefully that changes with these two.

I wonder why this monster is rated so low? When's the last time ND flipped a recrui

No bigger crap shoot than OL recruiting. Such a developmental position and when you watch tape rarely do you see them lined up on a D-1 DL recruit.

I watched his tape and he plays a bit high but all HS kids who are 6'5 or bigger tend to play high.

Because they can . :):)

He runs well and his frame suggests he can carry 315-320 one day.

Welcome aboard Caleb.

Is Caleb a "consensus 3 star?"

It seems that often there is one outlier site that underrates a recruit and makes it easier to say "X was only a 3* coming out of high school but now makes millions in the NFL" Such as ESPN thinking lowly of Will Fuller.
