Brian Hartline

Interviewing for the head job at UC. Rumor has it OSU folks not happy at all. Could be nothing more than a leverage move to get a raise or maybe there is some truth to the grumbling that he and Ryan Day clash quite frequently. Interesting development.
You said he was coach in waiting though

He is one of the position coaches who is worth a shot. You know he will kill it o the recruiting trail. If he hired afew experienced coaches it could work out

Seems like this is exactly what you would want if an Ohio St fan hoping he is one day your head coach. All things considered, I would have preferred if Kelly had stayed two more years, and Freeman had been hired and been successful as a head coach at a place like Boston College for those two years, and then returned to us as our HC as Kelly sneaks off to LSU. But timing and circumstances didn’t work out this way for us, and perhaps it will for Ohio St.

BK was not concerned about the future of ND football, ever! From the 1st, He was concerned about the future of BK.

My post was more about wishing things had evolved where Freeman got head coaching experience before becoming our head coach, and not really about Kelly per se. Whatever his motives, Kelly was damn good for the ND football program. For our part, we had reached a point of diminishing returns with Kelly, and I was happy to see him leave, just thought he left in a thoroughly disgusting way.

football wise BK was a good coach; just not a high character sort.
As for MF, it would have been better if he had more experience, but wysiwyg. I think he will be successful.

I think so as well. I hope he’s killing it in season three!

They looked lost for 2 quarters against Michigan and 2 qtrs in a wind bowl vs NW. Other than that I'd say they are fine.

You truly don't understand the difference in talent they have compared to their competition. You do this with Notre Dame too.
Golson, winning week to week in that business is difficult, period. And 45-5 is 45-5, no matter how you slice it.

Alabama, who is favored in every single game they play, should never, ever, lose a game by your thinking.

Winning week to week for some teams is not difficult

Ohio State is so superior to most of their schedule. They play 6 games a year where they have no chance of losing. 3 games a year where they have to play pretty well to win but not great. Then like 3 games where they have to play well to win (Michigan, psu, nd)

You make it sound way more difficult than it is.

If I was the coach there they would still beat ark st, toledo, rutgers

Slow down on how tough it is. This isnt the nfl

Then favored in every game they play Alabama, who only has one undefeated season in the last 12 years.....in your world, has failed miserably.

For anyone following -- Hartline has stated/tweeted his heart is at Ohio State and has no plans to go anywhere.

They win 90 percent of their games dude and 6 NCS. They rarely ever lose.

And didn't you read where i said they have to play well in about 3 games of the year.

Using Alabama is a poor example of your point. They almost never lose
