I wouldn't say it's one less team, but it starts to even the playing field.
No way a 1 loss Clemson team (to Syracuse) gets in over a 1 loss ND team (to UGA) ... especially with the quality of opponents on each team's respective schedule.
It's the conference bugaboo. 1 loss Clemson would be a slam dunk to get the pick over ND.
Trust me. IF ND is 11-1 and Bama is the only undefeated team then ND will get in. If they don't, the committee will never let ND in.
Maybe not but that's a pretty bad loss and quality of losses are a factor when evaluating one loss teams for playoff consideration. It's going to be a very interesting 2nd half of the season.
Let's not get ahead of ourselves friends. The Irish have a long and hard road ahead of them. The second half will not be a cake walk. I worry about each game ahead, including WF. If it can happen to Michigan, Clemson, and Wash St, it can happen to almost anyone. I want to see a Bama / Georgia match up. That would be fun to watch.
IF The Irish go 11-1 they will be in. Everybody needs to slow down and take it one game at a time. Toby is right, there is a lot of ball left. IF the Spartans win out they are in. Too Many Variables left to worry about other teams. Just win next week and move on to the next game. It is just nice to be talking about the possibilities and more importantly see a team play with emotion and heart. They actually tackle and fly to the ball on D. KEEP GETTING BETTER. GO IRISH!!!
Yep. It's building. Shows are noticing. Talking heads are talking. While I know we can win remaining 6, it's a rediculous schedule. 5 of next 6 ranked? Who else plays that. Could actually beat PAC champ, B10 champ, ACC champ and lose by 1 to SEC champ.

Listening to College Game Day radio version and the question was discussed among the panel. Who is more likely to make a play-off run.....Sooners or Irish? Consensus among the panel was Okie. Reason....not sold on ND's pass game and defense.
And what about Oklahoma's defense.

It's espn and they have a overwhelming jealousy and hate towards us. I fast forward through college football live everyday and I have yet to find the irish mentioned in one episode except for the Georgia game, unless I missed it. Can you imagine if baseball tonight never mentioned the Yankees once in 4 weeks lol?
Bama/Georgia game? You might see two of them. They will meet in the espnsec champ. game and then maybe again in the playoffs. It would not surprise me if they play in the final. They started setting it up last week when Iowa St. beat Oklahoma.

And Michigan sunk the boat. At 5-1 I expect to see them in the top twenty five. We're get a good sense of our team next week. USC is beat up but there are still USC and after that first half Darnold has something to prove. Hope Kelly has 'em ready.
