As we saw this Saturday when Wimbush isn't playing the offense isn't all that special. But when defenses have to worry about a Quarterback who can take it to the house on any play along with running backs that can take it to the house on any play and a SUPER Oline blocking for them the Irish are unstoppable !!
I am tired of hearing from all you Nancy boys and Laundry boys and the Sewing circle on how the Irish are doomed because they can't pass !! Well Wimbush can pass and he can run like a deer too !! Run the Damn ball !!! Power football!!! Are you not entertained??!!
He is a GREAT LEADER just like Tim Tebow but in a different way.
We are lucky to have a quarterback like Wimbush and he will lead us to the playoffs and a National Championship ! the Irish are perfect in the RedZone with Wimbush at the helm and he is faster than Johnny Football !~! Wimbush has already broken Alltime ND records for rushing yards and TDS by a QB in a game !!
It wasn't his fault they lost to Georgia !! It was Coach Kellys fault by running three straight plays trying to protect a lead !! And Mike McGlincheys fault for whiffing on his blocking assignment when Wimbush was driving the Irish towards a game winning field goal !!
Kelly needs to put more faith in Wimbush like Urban Meyer had in Tebow !!! You guys are going to give me a heart Attack with all your complaining about the passing game !!! Put down your sewing needles and laundry detergent and Watch Wimbush and Learn !! He is going to take the Irish on one helluva ride !!! And don't sleep on his good friend Kevin Stepherson !!

BW is nothing like Tim Tebow, Tebow was a sledge hammer and did not have the speed to consistently take it to the house Rainey and Harvin were the home run hitters for UF

BW is like Pat White of WVU when he and Steve Slaton were killing it for Rich Rod. He is short, lightning fast, can give you 6 points in a blink and an average passer.

More Michael Vick than Tim Tebow. Elite runner, huge arm, needs more work in the accuracy department.

Bigger arm than Pat White, although I can appreciate the comparison. A right handed Michael Vick in his younger years.

I don't know about that. He can already throw the ball better than Tebow and has a way higher ceiling.
No.
The professional version of Tebow maybe.

The college version of Tebow no way. Tebow was John riggins playing QB.

And at this point their timeline I think Tebow was slightly more accurate. That's saying something because Tebow was not accurate.

Tebow was accurate when needed.

BW so far when needed is not accurate. He's surviving because of his running.

I don't like this comparison either. Vick was much quicker and a bit faster. More accurate too.

He can actually make a throws from the pocket and he has the arm strength to make all the throws. Tebow couldn't throw an entire route tree.

BW is a better prospect IMO he needs work a lot of it, but I see no comparison between the two except both were athletic, with Wimbush being an elite athlete and Tebow being a good one. Tebow was an h back playing qb, where Wimbush is actually a qb.

I wouldn't extend that to Wimbush that he's a QB playing QB.

He's shown nothing to claim such.

I think he's a tailback who has an arm.

John L williams could throw from sideline to to sideline on his knees. That's 52 1/3 yards

Kordell Stewart threw the ball from his twenty five into the end zone against Michigan. We know how good idea QB he was. He would have had a great career in football if he didn't insist he was a QB.

My point is many athletes have an arm but his accuracy problem is not really fixable. Once in a while his mechanics are the reason his throw is off...but most of them his footwork, shoulders, hips are good but that ball is nothing ckose to bring on target.

Having said that above though in college he can get away with this. He just won't get much of a look for Sunday...but he can be athletic enough to win on Saturday.

All valid points as to comparison, but I took the main point to be Wimbush is a running threat first and foremost, who adds a difficult to defend dimension, with incredible success in the red zone, with leadership skills, that all add up to winning football without a major passing attack...much like Tebow’s college career.

Way higher ceiling than Tebow? I hope you are right. Remember Timmy won the Heisman and a couple NC's.

Unfortunately, the glaring difference is the head coach on those teams for Tebow.

But, there is still time for Wimbush to get those as well.

  • Completed 192 passes (most in the state) of 265 attempts (.723) for 3,187 yards, 37 touchdowns and four interceptions as senior in 2014 for St Peter’s Prep High School in Jersey City, New Jersey

Way Faster than Tebow but not as strong up the middle . Tebow more of a fullback playing QB while Wimbush is a speed back very danderous for a big run

Trust me
..i want him to be the leader you speak of. But you nor anyone else can claim him to be such a leader. Not yet.
He had one real test so far and didnt do much in that one point loss.

I want him to be that leader. Very much so.

Maybe Vince Young?

Tim Tebow threw for almost 3300 yards in his sophomore year alone.
32 touchdowns and just six interceptions

You do realize who he was throwing too right and the team he had that the offense was created by the generations best offensive mind in Urban. No one is saying Tim wasn't a winner and a good college qb. Wimbush has better physical tools from the pocket. This is the dudes first year starting my god. Mechanics check, arm check, accuracy needs a lot of improvement. The only thing Tebow has on BW is size that's it. Winning a chip is not the conversation right now.[/QUOTE]

Chip?

You need to take it off your shoulder.

The stats I put up was from Tim Tebow's first year as a starting quarterback as a sophomore. Not bad for an h back (who Notre Dame also recruited as a quarterback) regardless who the wide receivers, or the HC coach was.

I think you and I have different ideas as to what constitutes leadership skills. From everything I’ve read, Wimbush has the respect of his teammates and they believe in him, and they are willing to follow his lead. This is leadership in my opinion, and it starts with the weight room, and on the practice field and in the locker and culminates on game day, each and every game! Suggesting the Georgia game was the only test of his leadership and that he failed is way off the mark in my opinion.

Without getting into a pissing contest....

Show me some Notre Dame players who wouod speak of a teammate... Any teammate and say yeah, they don't do anything to help us...blah blah blah

They won't say such a thing. Teammates always talk highly of other teammates. It's the normal window dressing fodder.

One question....
The recievers sure seemed to have a bit better body language and what appeared to be a bit more positive evergy last week when a different QB was throwing.

I'm not suggesting book play over Wimbush but I seen some different recievers last week but what was strange was they wore the same numbers.

Wimbush might be a leader but I haven't SEEN anything to confirm such.

I wish I had.
