He WON a national title game as well. He's done it all at OU. Kelly hasn't really done anything but get hammered in one title game.
I do laugh when I see so many ND fans say no one else but Kelly can do this job. He's had as many awful off the field moments as any other coach has.
Bob turned down Lou holtz twice to be an assistant and received repeated back channel overtures from ND over the years.
Please, Stoops is exactly who you would not want at this time. This program needs a complete culture change and that includes leadership at the AD office and BOT. A reinvigoration of the program at every level. A jolt of enthusiasm. When a change comes, when..., it will be young and hopefully a bold decision. The question is, can the powers at be accurately and dispassionately gauge the real state of the program and what exactly is the goal of ND football?

I totally agree. I'm still going to keep my eye on PJ Fleck this year. Realists understand that for ND to be good on the gridiron ever again is for both Jack and Kelly to be let go. The athletic programs are stale and need new life.
