Was watching the 2005 highlights and in my opinion the 2005 pair of Samardzija and Stovall was the best single season 1-2 punch at Notre Dame, ever.
The stats are obvious, but it's beyond the stats for me. They passed more that year than ever before. But to me, it was the impact the pair made week after week. Both Stovall and Samardzija had lights out games. Stovall was also an excellent blocker that season. I think that duo was way, way better than the Samardzija/McKnight duo from a season later.
The Golden Tate/MIchael Floyd duo from 2009 was good, but with Floyd missing so much time it's hard to put that group in there as a pair. Plus, the 2005 group was part of a winning team.
How about you? Best pair of WR's ever at ND in a single season.
