From Anwar Richardson of Orangebloods.com:

- Friday was a rainy practice for portions per sources, but reportedly had good energy; probably because the weather was cooler. It was a reported full-pads practice with a lot of spectators on hand which also usually gets players more fired up.

- It was some sort of military day, someone said "a TON" of soldiers in uniform were there to watch practice. It's unclear which branch of the military, but I'm sure the school will put up some photos from the day at some point.

- WR Dorian Leonard apparently had the catch of the day in 11-on-11 with the two's - he's been pretty silent through camp, but a source texted that, on one big catch, Leonard "looked like a taller (Odell Beckham Jr.)" Leonard was plagued by drops in the spring game and has missed on a few through fall camp as well in practices open to the media. However, reports such as these go to show his natural ability. Leonard can make really flashy plays at times. His usage in the 2015 Texas offense will surely boil down to the same thing as always with Leonard - consistency.

- QB Tyrone Swoopes is reportedly targeting WR John Burt more and more and it should be expected that Burt will play an immediate role with the offense and be given ample opportunities to contribute as an outside weapon.

- Some good injury news, OB was told that DT Alex Norman returned to practice Friday as did LB Breckyn Hager.

- The staring OL remains the same across the front per multiple sources. (L to R) Williams, Flowers, Doyle, Vahe, Perkins.

- New freshman-enrollee Buck Major spent his second-straight day at second-team LT, reportedly. I texted with one source about how he looks in a full padded practice and he said, "really good in pads," and "(his) feet are good," and "nice hips and swivel."

- With Major taking the majority of second-team snaps on the left side, OLs Tristan Nickelson and Marcus Hutchins apparently switched off at RT with the two's Friday.

- RB Johnathan Gray did not practice but was dressed out per one person in attendance at practice Friday. I've said before that the staff is taking it easy with Gray. His minor injury tweaks in the last week are nothing to worry about. I would be very surprised if Gray took part in Saturday's practice which is likely to be a scrimmage-setting, though. Gray was a non-participant in this setting last week.

- TE Andrew Beck is fine - as we reported in the War Room - but the OB staff was able to confirm via a source close to Beck that he was at practice Friday just for good measure. Nothing to see here until further notice.
