At least he's not pulling a Kelly and interviewing prior to the NCG. He's focused on prepping for the game.
NFL coaching salaries have sky rocketed in recent years. You got coaches making $20M/year.Been reading these little articles from yahoo for past 3 days now.
It’s all a bunch of BS. F the nfl.
All they do is cause distractions to college programs when they damn well know there going to hire another recycled current nfl coach. .
The previous Bears coach made 5 mil a year. A lot of the stuff you say is just you talking out your assNFL coaching salaries have sky rocketed in recent years. You got coaches making $20M/year.
If Freeman is chasing the highest pay possible in his profession (and lets face it, many coaches are) then the NFL is an extremely enticing place to be.
So any time these reports of coaches being interviewed for jobs comes up, its definitely something as fans that make your ears perk up a bit.
There's basically been reports since about week 8 tying Freeman to the Chicago Bears (or one of the other 10+ nfl coaching openings this upcoming off season)
Where's there's smoke there's usually some fire.
It doesn't matter what the previous coach made. The highest paid coaches in the NFL make significantly more money than the highest paid coaches in college. If Freeman is chasing the highest pay in his profession, an NFL opportunity will be enticing. The previous Bears coach made 5 mil a year. A lot of the stuff you say is just you talking out your ass
Freeman to the Bears isn't happening
Yes it does. And he wouldn't get near the top of the NFL if he left nowIt doesn't matter what the previous coach made. The highest paid coaches in the NFL make significantly more money than the highest paid coaches in college. If Freeman is chasing the highest pay in his profession, an NFL opportunity will be enticing.
I read that - as a whole - NFL coaches make $2 million more than CF coaches. But it's the national exposure of the NFL - and TV exposure - that draw the top coaches to the NFL. They all want to excel at the highest level. The previous Bears coach made 5 mil a year. A lot of the stuff you say is just you talking out your ass

Bears isn't an organization that is going to pony up the money like that. He’s not going pro. How many times do I have to say. ESP. Da bears. Where coaches and qbs go to die
If he leaves for the NFL he'll definitely get a raise on his current salary plus if he performs at an elite level in the NFL he'll definitely get a fair market value salary for his performance which is significantly higher than college.Yes it does. And he wouldn't get near the top of the NFL if he left now
There's only 9 NFL coaches that will making more money than him next year
There's a lot of HC job openings this offseason in the NFL. If the Bears are interested, other teams will be interested as well.Bears isn't an organization that is going to pony up the money like that.
They still owe Eberflus around 10 mil
MFs buyout is probably at least 40 mil
Then they would have to pay MF at least 9 mil to get him to leave.
They aren't spending that much money for a guy who has never coached in the NFL and who isn't an offensive guy to go with Caleb
It's all for clicks
Wanna bet on this ?There's a lot of HC job openings this offseason in the NFL. If the Bears are interested, other teams will be interested as well.
MF is having the type of season that is going to get the attention of the biggest organizations in football. Freeman oozes potential too. He's only 3 years in, producing better than much of the field of coaches.
I also haven't liked MFs responses when asked about the NFL noise. He's blown the question off and given canned cliched answers that leave the possibility open.
If he wins a Title people will still love himIf Freeman leaves for the NFL (and I do not think he will, not after this year at least) then this board better be shut down for like a week. And half the people here better preemptively check themselves into a hospital.
man I keep wondering how you can keep getting dumber and dumber but you doIf he leaves for the NFL he'll definitely get a raise on his current salary plus if he performs at an elite level in the NFL he'll definitely get a fair market value salary for his performance which is significantly higher than college.
listen linda
there's also the benefit that the NFL evens the playing field out (you aren't notre dame facing osu with a way less talented roster at any point) due to the parity in the sport and you aren't in the recruiting rat race begging teenagers to play football at your school year around or falling behind
Notre Dame Coach Marcus Freeman ain't going anywhere! Notre Dame is a perfect fit for him, and he knows it! He'll make enough money to take care of himself, and his family, quite well, and in the process become a Notre Dame Legend!
Notre Dame has a bit of history also, and it transcends that of the Bears. The Bears have incredible history. That is still a great job, and things can turn around quickly. Look at the Commanders.
If he wins a Title people will still love him
NOT going to happen, Freeman is staying at NDAt least he's not pulling a Kelly and interviewing prior to the NCG. He's focused on prepping for the game.
Chicago Bears should interview Pete Carroll. Carroll is 12 years older than Mike McCarthy, and seems 10 years younger.McCarthy is out in Dallas, Bears will interview him.
He won't be able to command with the same authority he has now ever in the NFL.At least he's not pulling a Kelly and interviewing prior to the NCG. He's focused on prepping for the game.
I believe Marcus stays. If his message about helping and coaching these young players is true, which I believe he's sincere. He stays. He won't be able to command with the same authority he has now ever in the NFL.
No kidding? You are brilliant. If he leaves for the NFL he'll definitely get a raise on his current salary
