Former Notre Dame pitcher John Michael Bertrand was promoted Thursday to the San Francisco Giants' AA team, the Richmond Flying Squirrels. It's the second time he's leveled up this season, starting at Class A San Jose and then advancing to High A Eugene. The 6-foot-3, 205-pound lefty was drafted in the 10th round by the Giants in June of 2022. He was a combined 9-2 at San Jose and Eugene. He was a reliever at San Jose, and then moved into the rotation at Eugene with 8 starts in 11 games there.
