I'd take Barry Alvarez as our next AD. He certainly understands the landscape at Notre Dame plus he is very knowledgeable about everything NCAA since he has been a long time AD at Wisky.

How old is Trump?Alvarez will turn 70 in a couple weeks. He has been at Wisconsin for more than 25 years. Why would he come to Notre Dame now?

Oh it's wishful thinking. I am no insider at all. Someone on the other site start a thread on how successful he was as DC under Holtz and how he had carried that with him to Wisconsin. nd it just go me thinking that wow he would make a great AD at ND, IMHO.Is this just wishful thinking, or do you have a reason to believe this could happen?
Yeah you'll have to explain to me what is so delusional about that.Delusional
He was a great DC at ND, and he did parlay that into the Wisconsin NC job.Oh it's wishful thinking. I am no insider at all. Alvarez would be great..Plus he's on the playoff committee. That couldn't hurt, if the Irish can be close to consideration. ND will need biased representation at the table, much like these other teams and conferences.
Alvarez would be great..
As far as playoff goes...we'd have no problem getting in. There is still a rating factor we impact. People loving or hating ...either way they tune in.
Last year we'd have gotten in. All Kelly had to do was get one extra defensive stop. But when the game is on a huge stage and very meaningful he gets exposed as a terrible coach.
That's fact.
Four is unacceptable.I know it's not realistic to get Alvarez now. I was kidding about having a biased representative on this farce of a committee. Of course, it would've been great to get Alvarez after Holtz.
I'm not convinced Notre Dame would've been in last year without the loss to Stanford, Kelly's coaching in a huge stage, or any game really, excluded.
I'm not a big fan of so few people determining the playoff teams. I'd rather expand it to 8 or let the bcs system determine the 4.
