Bad fundamentals still a problem

Over the past two weeks, Notre Dame LB Joe Schmidt has 9 tackles and 11 missed tackles

You just refuse to get the point. I've said repeatedly that outside of Day the tackling is piss poor. Meaning the other 10 guys are not tackling well. You keep beating the anti Joe Schmidt drum and although he is not playing perfect..I'm far more worried about the other two linebackers and our porous secondary!!

88ND et al. Article in local Sacramento paper about Jim Harbaugh's success at turning programs around, and 49er fan laments. In the article, he quotes Matt Millen and his observations for the reason Michigan is playing so well, and why JH coached teams succeed. Thought you would find this interesting as it relates to your comments throughout this thread:

“I see what he’s doing and I laugh, because people think it’s so complicated,” Millen said. “All he’s doing is playing good, fundamental football. That’s it. Nothing more. It’s execution – low man wins. Are your feet right? Is your hand placement proper? Are you striking on the rise? All the little detail things. That’s all he’s doing.”

are both of you in agreement that the issues you are discussing are coaching related issues?

How can that be?
Please stay out of this discussion - you add nothing . Let these guys discuss freely w-o cynical whining interference - please be respectful of a serious football discussion and stay out

You are FAR more concerned over Jaylon Smiths play than Joe S. ? Jaylon has 28 solo tackles compared to Joes 19 and more TFLS. Jaylon also has a couple of fumble recoveries (very important) and a couple of awesome pass breakups.
I seriously doubt opposing offensive Coaches game plan around Joe S.. They do against Jaylon Smith. You make a lot of great points about tackling but to say Jaylon Smith is more of a problem than Joe S. is insane.

Forget it. I said nothing of Joe playing great. Quit ****ing insinuating I did.
I recognize the ceiling on both of these players. I also recognize the simple things that each must do at their positions.

Bodie, the Irish have played two option attacks....do you realize Jaylon having the number of tackles he has is a big part because of what Joe does. You get that right? Joe could play better yes........they all can but this thread is about fundamental tackling and outside of Day, they are all bad....with Jaylon being one of the worst. I echo again....He is allergic to tackling below the chest.

I'm done with this.

Nobody loves Jaylon more than me but I call out his short comings. Period. The rest of them as well.
