Notre Dame has extended a scholarship offer to Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco four-star safety DJ Morgan. Morgan, who is committed to Arizona State, is the second cousin of former Irish women's basketball star Skylar Diggins.
He took an unofficial visit to Notre Dame back in April, but the staff told him that they wanted to see more of him in coverage. Irish associate head coach Mike Denbrock watched Morgan workout on May 14, and defensive coordinator Brian VanGorder was at his school on Tuesday to extend the bid.
"It's a big deal especially because I have family out there and everything," Morgan said. "I'm not sure what to think of it, I committed to Arizona State."
Morgan is ranked by Rivals.com as the No. 24 athlete in the country and the No. 40 prospect in California.
