You mean like BK won't make it through the season? Or BK won't return next year? Or Tom Herman-Jon Gruden-Chris Peterson will be the next HC in 2017? Or Jack ordered the firing of BVG? Or Jack has given BK a win number to keep his job? Oh wait, that was this board that did that. There is more "silly" stuff on here than on the editorial page of the NY Times, and that's saying a lot.
OK. I'll tell you why. 1) Stability 2) He gets what ND is about. 3) ND has been in the hunt for a play-off spot despite injuries. 4) title game 2012. 5) If ND had any kind of mediocre defense, this team would be undefeated this year, would have beaten Stanford last year, and would could have made the play-offs. 6) Let's see what happens with this new DC hire. If it works out, then things are good. If it doesn't, BK most likely will be leaving. 7) ND is not going to get any of these dream HCs that have been mentioned that past couple of weeks. Never. LSU, USC and perhaps Texas will be the hot jobs with less resistance to success than at ND. None of these points will satisfy the "Never BK" crowd, but that's life in the big city. They are going to have to deal with it until after the 2017 season, at least.
Because getting rid of him is like taking 10 steps backwards. I think his program he has built is closer then you want to admit to being at the top. I think we are damn lucky to have Brian Kelly. It's the non ND fans on this board who keep chirping like yourself and cvgr. Go root for another team if Kelly piss you off so much.
