Apparently he's been denied by the NCAA for playing this year - seems like a shitty decision based on his circumstances, but at least there's clarity. Not sure if UND can or will appeal.

Help me understand how the Bama QB transfers to ASU and is eligible immediately and you have the fat FL who commits to ND and then changes his mind and plays at UCLA right away. I know the NCAA is a joke, but is there any consistency?

I think the argument was the NCAA rules require a transfer to sit a year IF they were recruited and on a football scholarship, etc... and since the academies don't offer athletic scholarships, the rule doesn't apply. Kelly suggests they have additional info that they believe should be presented to the NCAA, thus the talk of a potential appeal. I can't imagine what that could be unless it relates to some personal hardship that necessitated he leave The Academy.

Did he sit a year before playing for Navy? I don't think you get to double dip.

He attended the Naval Academy prep school as I recall. Don't know why this would impact this issue one way or the other.
