Yes they have great talent on defense and are well coached. They had a kid today in the Army game that is 6-7 315 and a DL that is silly good. Sa an has built a college dynasty.
Ara, you being a big Parseghian fan like me … probably remember Tom Pagna saying that Ara put all the top athletes on defense and used the rest to play offense (with the possible exception of a QB). His reasoning was, "if our opponents can't score on us (back when there was no OT and ties were allowed) the worst that could happen was an 0 - 0 tie".
People say the game has changed and today it is impossible to have a lock down defense. They may be correct, but I still think the team that plays the best defense is going to be the team most likely to win championships (of course unless they have a really mediocre offense).

Alabama is not doing what they are doing because of scheme -- they are running a business down there and academics is not a consideration . If Kelly wins a national championship given all the bull shit he has to deal with the ND fan base should collectively get on their hands and knees and kiss his ass for he will have pulled off a legitimate miracle

I don't dispute this. However, I am hoping some real investigative journalist or whistle blower would blow wide open the situation at Alabama. Where is Snowden when you need him??
