Derrek Cooper, a five-star recruit in the 2026 class, reported a Notre Dame offer Monday.
The 6-foot-1, 200-pound Cooper was briefly committed to Georgia in June. He's pretty well traveled recruit. Even since the beginning of March he made trips Miami, Florida State, Georgia, Tennessee and Ohio State. He has official visits scheduled to Auburn, Miami, Alabama, Georgia, Penn State and Ohio State, and he has expressed interest in making an official visit to Florida State.
Cooper received his offer from Penn State in April of last year when Notre Dame running backs coach Ja'Juan Seider was still with the Nittany Lions. We'll see if Seider can convince Cooper to make a visit up to Notre Dame in the future.
Cooper rushed 124 times for 905 yards and 13 touchdowns as a junior at Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna. Rivals ranks Cooper as the No. 1 all-purpose back and No. 12 overall in the 2026 class.
