I don’t think that’s fair to Mayer. there‘s not a player on the squad that gave a greater effort, sacrificed their bodies more or worked harder then mike. He was always a high character guy and a team player. he took a ton of hits this year and I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s a little banged up. Regardless I’m fine with him sitting this one out.

Football players that aren’t afraid to get hurt isn’t crazy … I have no problems with players sitting out but an injury can happen in a bowl game, in practice or stepping out of the shower. They can’t hide under their beds until draft day.
