It seems like the number or posts/replies seems to be slow. I need more info to read on a slow Monday?

Is it because of the new format or because it is just the worst time to be talking about College football?

Sorry to post another topic about the new format, but I was also a little curious to see what it was like to start a new thread on here.

A lot of poster have left, the new format turned off others that didn't leave, slow part of the season, an assortment of things.

JMO: the Loss of ND35, will cost us some discussion threads; but it is and has been "a news void" for a while. Recruiting news seems non existent and the usual debates have been debated ad nauseam. And the ignore feature works far more efficient than before, so the advantage to eliminate the existence of 'foul' posters silences those exchanges: leaving more efficient/effective/interesting adult discussion.

imo There are a number of factors involved in the board activity collapse:
- Slow time of year
- new board format not accepted
- argus and his handles
- The ongoing (although slowed) obnoxious board raid/assault from premium members

I'm guessing all the above and more have contributed to people leaving or posting less....

Ara- I think 35 will need a home visit by someone in order to get him setup again. That might be problematic for him. Unless one of the board regs are in the St Pete area.

Go Irish!

despite perse's bleatings, a lot of this is because of the new format that virtually no one likes. if they had really wanted to they could have made this one look and act like the old one but they chose not to and now are surprised that their masterpiece is not beloved.

the arrogance of nerds is right up there with any other bunch; just look at microsoft. every other operating system they have come up with since windows 95 has virtually crashed and burned and they still have not figured out that the main reason is that their idea of what people want is not anywhere close to reality. so they have to go back to the same old each time they fail - and they never learn their lesson. perse and company are just like that.

now I would freely admit that the idiots that take their fight about fsu here are a small part of the reason people have left (maybe someday we will get a board mod that actually does his job)

There was a downturn in posting prior to the format change. I guess taking a couple swipes at perse though makes sense.

CVGR nailed it in my opinion. All those factors took some enjoyment out of the Board, and the lack of any news just adds to this. Hope we get back to lively exchange of info and opinion limited to ND football.

Ara, you mentioned colors and bold … might work, especially for 35. One problem still is the quoted message when you hit 'reply' still comes out kinda strange.

You guys are leaving out the most relevant reason. This place became a members only boys club and I have been sounding the trumpets about it for months. The semi regulars and occasional contributors have left and probably settled in where their opinions matter. It didn't take a genius to see what was going on. You can blame the print or the nerds or the color of the print or the slow time of year but when the small club of regulars condense their little unit to even a smaller number, this is what you get. Next to nothing. I mean, really, use the ignore feature for contributors you don't like? Grow a pair, be inclusive, and just don't respond to threads that upset you. Just my opinion.

I suggest you re-read your last 20-30 posts; Critical nature?

Sal:

as far as taking shots at me, it is spitting into the wind. The ignore feature simplly removes their existance. The ignore feature works to create a sub-board that consists of those posters who are interesting, respectful and with objective opinion.
And so far the discussions I have "viewed" have been on topic.

The usual vugar culprits can carry on, their time is short. If I become aware of a rules violation bet ya butt I will report them.

You are free to read whatever you wish to read. I have no desire to read any of argusman's insane rantings under one name, much less several names. Be more inclusive? Why should I read crap?

it is the new format I have lost my fire and will only stop by when I am completely wacked I thin others are having similar reactions to the format it is just not friendly to read

78: I think you are missing my point. Ignorant posts can just be passed over without using the ignore feature. Some of the regulars have no problem doing that to good comments from newcomers and semi regulars. Plus, and this is absolutely true, many regulars go out of their way responding to and antagonizing these ignorant posters which only leads them to return again and again. Some of the regulars wanted a small little private club and now it appears they got it.

What ever happened to IrishOntario? Seems like it has been a while since I have seen his break-downs. This could also be due to it being April.

I can't speak for anyone but myself, but the people I have on ignore are posters who have, over a period of time, shown me that their comments are not worth reading.

Of course ignorant posts may be passed over. However, the ignore feature works real well in taking out the garbage.
Hmmm is there a way to make it default?
I think so....

I don't think any posters are trying to form a small clique on the board. Posters are continually coming and going. The ignore button is a good tool to use to defend against invasions such as the past KRLinvasion. Constant shit disturbers (pardon the expression) can also be removed. Board activity should pick up in late summer.

I really blame FieldTurf, the Campus Crossroads Project, and our deal with the ACC.

I especially miss the highly polarized FieldTurf arguments.

The format change is part of a broad move to mobile but most of the posters on a board like this are mainly on computer. Down now but more phone only guys will find this forum interesting,, eventually or not and it will trend down through next season then flitter out like so many topic threads that are not FB and TWTR.....

Is there an "app" for this forum, or do you just come here in the browser?

Never mind. I just read the other thread that said an App is in the works.
