Chad Bowman surprisingly has gotten cheeky and bashed ND a few times recently. He also said he wants a wall around cali recruiting.

Our response? 90 offers to cali kids. This is becoming personal imo and ND is sending a signal. I don’t know why Bowman started talking crap but this is going to be interesting

I’m curious but how do you know Bowman is bashing ND? I’m not questioning or saying you’re wrong but I’m just curious. Thanks in advance.

Probably doesn’t matter. Bowman might be out of a job after next season if Riley loses 4 plus games again.

Tresell, Meyer and Day (as well as other coaches around the country relative to the state they are in ) have said the same thing about Ohio (and whatever other state) - they all want to keep the in-state talent at home --

This will/should not impact ND's ability to recruit Cali (or any other state) --

Is it possible that ND wasn't satisfied with Bowen's results and quietly pushed him out and let him go?

Its not secret that ND hasn't been closing/competing for the best prospects in the game for a while now.

No he wasn't pushed out. He's very good in the recruiting game and did a real good job at ND. That's why SC offered him a ton

I wouldn't call 1 million a ton

That seems to be the new going rate for a general manager at the high P4 level

He did a good job finding some underappreciated/underrated players but just from an overall results standpoint the results have been lacking

No they haven't. And yes that 1 million dollar price tag is one of the top GM salaries in the country

Are you saying ND is making offers for players they don't want and won't accept commitments from, but they're so flustered by Chad Bowman's tweets, and they're just seething about it and now are recklessly handing out offers to any D-1 level guy in the state?

That would be the signal that ND would seem to be sending. That's the takeaway, that they've temporarily lost it, blind and blustering with a sense of personal insult and slight, and they're willing to build their entire recruiting strategy around some throbbing imperative to get the better of Chad Bowman, whoever the F that is. Our ex 'GM'.

Presumably they're not going to take commitments from players they hadn't previously offered, and really they're not even recruiting them at all. But they are making this little provocative spectacle, in tit for tat style. Maybe that could get interesting. A little catfighting never hurt anyone. But perhaps they will take a couple of Cali kids out of pure spite.

There have been at least 3 instances where Chad has publicly thrown shade at ND. I only remember one specific - had to do with him praising L Reilly as a great recruiter, like best he’s been around, etc. That kind of stuff. This is all well known
