if nil wasn't a thing, there is a very good chance (not a lock by any means) that nd could have landed 5 out of the top 13 players:

10) samuel m'pemba - was supposedly a nd lean before leaving midwest to go to img
12) peyton bowen - one time commit; no need to retell story
13) carnell tate - chicago area kid with a lot of early interest in nd; lots of talk of playing with dante moore (confirmed by both recently)
