Looks more like he will be wearing orange rather than garnet and gold

Not sure Miami even takes these types anymore.

Fricking thug, can ND at least recruit 5 star thugs? Is this what bk meant when he said he had to recruit better?

Your overall stupidity and clear hatred of BK is just boring. Really bad post - even for you.

Sorry I don't share the same enthusiasm as you do for the 10 win seasons although every good team ND plays BK lays an egg.ND can and should do better, although you and the rest of your apologists accept this crap.

Why should ND do better? They haven’t done better in over 30 years. Prove to me why ND should be better than what BK has gotten them to.

Notre Dame football, the way you choose to think of it, died in the 70's. Deal with it. They won 7 championships before 1950 and have won 4 since. 1 after 1977.

Since 1980 ND Football has been "great" for what.....5'ish years? Like the other guy said, where's the evidence that ND "should" be better than what Brian Kelly has done. Because Ara and Leahy won multiple championships before any kid who is currently in high school's father was even born?

MAYBE they'll be great again. Maybe. But start living in reality. They're closer to being Navy than they are Clemson or Alabama.

12 and 11 win seasons last 2 years.

Bk didnt ruin your life. You just suck. Blame yourself.

Between him and Aiden Atkinson (NW recruit arrested for sexual misconduct) some prison yard is really going to know how to pitch and catch it.

time to reload. Rees could be sorry if he is thinking of installing a run n gun

This kid could not wait for his ND Under Armour.....let’s wait before passing judgement, I hear he’s a straight shooter.
He committed with no gun to his head
His momma told him to start packing for college
He really wanted to be a safety but the d was loaded

what are kids thinking. Very sad

Then the program needs to stop telling the fam base the goal is to win a national championship if they don’t think they can seriously contend for one.

You have provided good reasoning and logic for your view of where Notre Dame is as a program so I completely respect your view. But you cannot expect everyone to share your view, and a good 40% don’t including myself. The money and the brand is there to be able to truly compete for a title once every 3 years, and win one once a decade. I still hold the view that every decade without a title is a failure.

Few people take the time to understand anything anymore ...

The “AR” in “AR-15” rifle stands for ArmaLite rifle, after the company that developed it in the 1950s. “AR” does NOT stand for “assault rifle” or “automatic rifle.” AR-15-style rifles are NOT “assault weapons” or “assault rifles.” An assault rifle is fully automatic, a machine gun.
Kind of...

Eugene Stoner was the father of the AR...but it was the AR-10 that was the original model. It was chambered in 7.62x51 NATO...for those of you scoring at home that's a .308 caliber.
It was actually in competition to be a service weapon in the late 50's but lost out to the M14. (Insanely stupid and definitely palms under the table being greased)
The military after coming off of many years of the M1 Garand in 30-06 and then the M14 in .308 was really looking for something smaller, lighter etc for the soldier. Hence the AR-15 was born.
The military needed something with more cycle rate hence the M16 was born.

AR stands for Armalite and NOT assault rifle.

Armalite couldn't handle the the demand and sold the rights to Colt manufacturing. Over the years many mfg have played a part in getting orders filled Colt, along with Bushmaster, FN, and even General motors hyramatic division made some, to name a few.

This is wrong.

We (the United States Military) carry semi-automatic rifles. They fire 3 round bursts or one round. They are assault rifles. The fully automatic you are talking about was the A1 model & hasn’t been issued in 30 years.
It doesn’t have to be fully automatic to be an assault rifle.

Huh?
Not sure what branch you're in but the M16A3 is still very much in use by certain service divisions. The A3 is a full Auto version of the much improved A2 (over the A1)

Moreover the M4 because of it's quicker aiming, shorter size (much shorter with the stock collapsed) has many fully automatic weapons in service. Particularly in a lot of close hostile confrontation areas.

Just for good measure there were even some M16A2's and A3's that had 4 selections. Safe, Semi, 3 Rd burst, full auto. Not many of these are used because it takes a special rifleman to know when and what to select and why.

Either way AR is not short for assault rifle. It's Armalite.

As was soon found out, the problem with a fully automatic hand held weapon is two fold: one you just cannot hold it steady and end up spraying all over; and two you eat up your mag right away. In the excitement of combat it was found too many soldiers basically shot up all their ammo in just a few minutes; leaving them with a plastic club.

I have fired a BAR, M14, M16 (all models w/full auto) and the AK 47. Unless you are using a bipod and are set in position you cannot aim worth a damn at full auto.

Another problem with full auto is the barrel heats up so fast. And of course wear increases greatly.

The movies tell everyone otherwise. Johnny Rambo holding an M60 1 handed from the hip unloading the entire belt without the muzzle rising whatsoever. LOL...NO!

The BAR was never intended to really be a shoulder weapon. Not from a position of stock against shoulder trying to take aim. It was intended as a sling over shoulder hip firing light machine gun.
The updated variant got a bipod but along with it more weight. This helped but ultimately made it heavier without any additional capacity. It was still only a 20 round box magazine.

The others you mentioned can be shot in auto mode by well trained individuals. Let's be clear...nobody is taking any of those rifles and off hand (no rest) against the shoulder and putting an entire 30 roound magazine into a small area.
With lots of practice, a good solid forward lean, the soldier can run 5-8 rounds accurately and effectively. Also, by letting off the trigger after such bursts allow the barrel to cool just enough to prevent premature throat erosion. Naturally if you're getting rushed by the enemy it still allows you to spray and pray emptying an entire magazine a little over 2 seconds. Sometimes that's needed just as covering fire too but it can't be done over and over and over without pause. The barrel will soon be shooting around corners. LOL.

Having said that you can't just hand over an entire platoon littered with green soldiers a bunch of fully auto rifles and say off you go. Best of luck.

Highly trained soldiers...(advanced infantry, special forces, etc) carrying fully automatic is very beneficial.

I understand that some around here discard this kid as an expendable 3 star who maybe wouldn't necessarily add to the "W" total. It is much larger than that though. You have an American young adult making a serious wrong choice and that affects the nation as a whole. Look beyond the star rankings and bragging rights and you will see a very troubling story. His time at ND is over but he can rebound and make things right in his future life.
