If I'm correct, ND loses: Day, Okwara, Schmidt, Shumate, Martin, Chris Brown and Carlisle More than likely, Stanley and Jaylon Smith are gone too. So, returning contributors for each position (without freshman) would be:
QB: Zaire, Kizer, Wimbush
RB: Folston, Prosise, Adams, Williams
WR: Fuller, Robinson, Hunter, Sanders, St. Brown
TE: Smythe, Jones, Luatua, Weishar
OL: Bars, McGlinchey, Nelson, McGovern, Elmer, Mustipher
That's a lot of returning talent on offense! Gonna need some young WRs to step up, but the offensive depth is really, really good! ND should have the best backfield in the nation next season. Solve the red zone issues and ND will put up a lot of points.
DL: Rochell, Blankenship, Bonner, Trumbetti, Cage, Tillery, Jones, Hayes
LB: Coney, Onwualu, Martini, Morgan and maybe Grace
DB: Russell, Luke, Butler, Tranquill, Redfield
It looks like the same story as this season on defense. Lots of returning bodies on the DL. Good options at LB (Barajas and Bilal could sneak into the picture). CB looks good, but safety is a major concern.
All in all, lots of returning depth. Some guys who didn't see much PT this year will need to step up and a few freshman will see significant minutes (maybe Kareem, Morgan, Stepherson, Love or Claypool)
