1.) Random question but does ND have a speed coach? I ask because (and I could just be imaging things) It seems like some of are players run strange. For example Dexter Williams is fast but seems to run really flat footed? I know that Ohio State used to have one and I think its a good idea.

2.) Is playing with tempo really a good idea for ND? Our defense as we know is pretty average, so wouldn't be better to control the clock so our defense can rest as well as have more time to make adjustments in between series?

Thanks

No idea if we have a speed coach, but I noticed that both Adams and Wlliams got run down from behind on their long runs. In the case of Adams, it seemed like he was not running full speed until he was on his way down the sideline and switched the ball to his left arm.

To me it looked like he slightly bobbled the switch of the ball to his left arm and visibly slowed during the process. Adams has taken it to the EZ on long runs before. I'll take Adams and Williams in the secondary all day long.

Re Tempo it definitely helps our offense and it's becoming so widespread that we have to do it. I agree that the lack of depth on defense is going to be a season long issue but Elko demonstrated that he can make adjustments on the fly. He needs more talent and he also needs time to fully get everyone understanding their roles. His system is based on execution and one spring/summer is likely not enough to purge the crap BVG did to these kids and get them to fully buy in. I do think we will be better against Georgia. I doubt we used all of our looks/packages on either defense or offense.
