I think the 2 most likely scenarios are the 3 5 seed vs the Big 12 or G5 champ.

However if Oregon loses to Penn state, and Texas beats UGA we will be the 6 seed.

If Boise loses next week the G5 champ will be the 12. If Boise wins the big 12 champ will be the 12

Agree but so much uncertainty. If SMU loses the ACC could be in trouble--and is 10-3 Clemson team better than ASU and Boise? if UNLV loses tonight and then beat Boise can army make the playoff.? Still some more madness to unfold but I agree that there's a decent chance we could see both Boise and the big 12 champ in the first two rounds. I think Arizona State is significantly better than Boise, but I think I'd rather play Arizona State in South Bend in December.

Clemson lost? Wow I totally missed that. Bad loss for Dabo. They can still be in the playoff if they beat SMU.

What if army beats Tulane and is the biggest g5 team in the final rankings if Boise loses???.

And then they lose to Navy

If Oregon and Texas win tonight. the top 5 CFP ranking on Tuesday will most likely be:
1. Oregon
2. Texas
3. PSU
4. ND
5. UGA

ND is likely to be a five or six seed, maybe 7 but that would be as low as I see them going. A lot would have to happen to see ND fall to 7.

Probably both PSU and UGA winning which would make Oregon & UT fall to 5 & 6.

I checked several various sites this evening and it seems that the most common projection is ND as a 5 or 6 seed and playing ASU, Miami, or South Carolina

To me it looks like if ND is the 6, They will face whoever gets that last at large bid which could be Bama

If they get the 5, it looks like the 12 will be the lowest ranked conference champion which will not be Boise, it will either be UNLV Clemson, or the Big12 champ as it’s hard to envision any of those teams jumping Alabama

How is UGA #5 ? They got their butts kicked for 3 quarters and took 8 OTs to beat a middling ACC team
