I want to get everyone’s thoughts on this “look to the sidelines” or “check with me” offense that ND is running. I am personally not a fan for a number of reasons, but I really want to know what others think.
my concerns:
1. Extremely difficult to run tempo
2. Reactive by nature - you’re adjusting to what the defense is doing, not forcing them to adjust to you
3. Pressures the play clock constantly because of the read, look, react/realign nature
4. Prevents your QB from really owning the offensive reads - he’s dependent on the sidelines
5. Disrupts flow and momentum, particularly after big plays
6. Offers the defense more time to substitute and matchup personnel
