And an amazing leader who has led Germany to a top position in the world and an economic powerhouse. Talk about a strong middle class. Happy people. They all get six to eight weeks vacation, have tons of holidays and free health care. free college and low unemployment.
I work there all the time and I see it.
(And by the way DT better be careful with his Tariff talk, BMW might just pick up their ball and go home and where would that leave South Carolina? And if Mercedes and Audi follow, Mexico will be building a fence on their side of the border.)
Bodi, you'll like this: woke up with the stomach flu last biz trip to Berlin five weeks ago. Stayed in bed all day. Then realized it wasn't the flu at all so went to emergency at 4AM. Had my appendix taken out the next night. Doctors were amazing. Two nights stay with in a room with two old German guys who could really snore!
Cost for the operation, the scans, the stay? 3,000 Euro. ($3,100)
Here it would have cost $35,000! If Donnie can fix that he'll have my vote next time.

But why is Trump denying access to Afghan Translators who risked their lives (and are still targeted by taliban) while fights alongside our boys -- I just heard an interview with a US Special Forces Guy who is trying to get them into the USA -- This soldier said one of the translators saved his life by shooting a guy who was about to attack his back. He also said the translators often were able to smell out an attack because they knew the culture.
The translator who saved the soldier -- while he was waiting to be cleared to come to the USA -- was captured by the taliban and the f-ers cut his head off. His family is still there and vulnerable. What happens next time we go to a country and need volunteers to translate, etc?
I would welcome these kinds of heroes to our country.
Beach -- there are 231 students from Trumps 7 countries studying at USC. Most of them are engineers pursuing advanced degrees. If Trump would have had his way they would have already been deported. Luckily we have something called the rule of law and the constitution. I'm not saying we should or can take everyone. But certainly translators who fought alongside our boys in Iraq and Afghanistan deserve a place. Immigrants are not the bad guys here. The rich people who are licking their chops as Trump gives them break after break after break -- remember 2007? These people are pitting poor vs. poor and what is happening?

Germany took in the basically non-functioning, poor East Germany twenty years ago without a blink and instead of sending them into a depression they soared.
The currently have the 4th biggest economy in the world -- with far fewer people. Since 2003, it's not China but Germany, that colossus of European socialism, that has either led the world in export sales or at least been tied for first. Even as we in the United States fall more deeply into the clutches of our foreign creditors -- China foremost among them -- Germany has somehow managed to create a high-wage, unionized economy without shipping all its jobs abroad or creating a massive trade deficit, or any trade deficit at all. And even as the Germans outsell the United States, they manage to take six weeks of vacation every year. They're beating us with one hand tied behind their back.
