After hauling in a school-record (for tight ends) 11 receptions Saturday night in a 28-20 win over No. 16 BYU at Las Vegas, Notre Dame tight end MIchael Mayer finds himself tied for 19th nationally in receptions per game (6.6), and the only tight end among the top 80 in that statistical category.

Notre Dame QB Drew Pyne moves up 14 spots, to No. 17, in the latest national pass-efficiency rankings (167.3), just four spots behind reigning Heisman Trophy winner Bryce Young of Alabama. Week 1 opponent. C.J. Stroud of The Ohio State University is No. 1, and Sept 24 opponent Drake Maye of UNC is No. 3. And just in case you were wondering Phil Jurkovec of Boston College is 83rd, saddled with the nation's worst rushing attack (131st out of 131) and an O-line that's 124th nationally in sacks allowed.

Harvard grad transfer punter Jon Sot, now of ND, moves up to No. 3 nationally in punting (46.6 yards per kick), four spots ahead of former Irish punter Jay Bramblett, now with coach Brian Kelly at LSU.

What are the odds that on the first play from scrimmage in ND's 28-20 win over BYU, the Irish get an intercpetion (TaRiq Bracy)? ND came into the game dead last in the nation in fewest takeaways. BYU was 1st in the nation in fewest giveaways.
