At the same time, coaching, an inclement weather game plan, discipline and a smashmout mentality might have been nice trimmings.

I'd add a "kicking game," but I really don't expect much out of our kicker.

You win that game by playing patient field position football and cashing in on mistakes and red zone possessions ... like NC Staye did and ND didn't

How about running the ball? They made up half of their total yards on the single drive they decided to run.

This is turning into a Spanish Inquisition sketch.

Although, in my defense, I think I included that in "inclement weather game plan."

A less sophisticated offensive coordinator may call that a "clue."

Maybe Kelly was banking that the storm would skip the state of North Carolina. Seriously, what did they work on this week in practice? The gigantic hurricane really wasn't much of a secret.

I remember before the season started many here were saying that the Irish offensive line was the finest in college football. Seems like you could dominate a game with today's conditions just by controlling the line of scrimmage and running down the Wolfpack's throat.

It's clear the OL is anything but. They pass block well but are awful run blockers. I don't blame BK for throwing it but thought they should have been curls, slants, flats. The routes took way too long to develop, compounded by the conditions and we saw a lot of sacks. Quick hits would have been key. Nobody is mentioning the dropped balls, several on the last drive. Don't give me it's harder to catch, there were double digit fumbles in th game. Nothing was guaranteed.
