Yahoo takes shots at ND basketball for the tourney

what's funny about the article is that they spend some time bragging out how good we are as a team and give us high praise for our quality wins over teams like the blue devils and tar heels but then call us frauds. the writer must be a purdue or michigan alum

ND is #14 in average scoring margin at 13+ points...when your offense is as efficient as ND's, the defense just needs to be "good enough".

I think you're right cool. He's talking out of both sides of his mouth. He might want to watch them play before shoving his face in front of the stats all day. When ND needed to get stops in Greensboro- they did. It's not all offense for ND. The guy obviously has an agenda when he is non-stop attacking college guys.

We must have read to two different articles. I think the guy is pretty neutral other then stating that ND's defensive efficiency is really bad. He is also pretty clear that all of this is based off of historical trends, and hedges his expectations based on those trends. Not sure how this is necessarily bashing the team.

The article is a typical bash job on Notre Dame come NCAA tournament time BUT until Notre Dame starts advancing further in the tournament, these types of articles will always be written. I expect these "Notre Dame is the most vulnerable high seed to be upset" will be written every year until we get past the first weekend a few years in a row and not just once every 5-10 years. I don't like the articles but the team has to prove it on the court before they'll go away. All that being said, I will be shocked if we are not playing in the Sweet 16 this year.

Don't places like Yahoo and MSN use a lot of material from blogs and off- beat hippie beatnik sites? Yahoo and MSN definitely have a slant to them.

They aren't fans because true fans never criticize their team.

I didn't see any unearned criticism in the article. Pretty much fact-based.

He must of written that in his mom's basement!

Didn't mind the article . He is warning those who like the Irish in the brackets to be worried about our defense . And he might be right usually good defense beats good offense . Remember the chanpionship football game Ohio States superior defense wore Oregon out . So all the article is saying is if the Irish have a cold offensive night they don't have the defense to help them . I think it is a legitamet criticism . Typical writing to bring more interest to the tournament nothing more or less

He obviously didn't watch the part of the ACC championship game where ND went on a 20-2 run in the 2nd half.

How many turnovers did we get in that span? I can remember quite a few.

Lol why should he apologize? He is paid to make predictions. He made weak predictions that weren't even based on his own opinions.
