About admissions and the type of player ND recruits. I have one question to you above my pay grade. Could Lou's players get in to ND today. If yes i have no problem with the status quo. If no there needs to be some changes.
Lots and lots of Lou's players would get in today. The issue is not in the center it's on the margins. You are talking about a handful of kids.About admissions and the type of player ND recruits. Don't think the Moss situation had anything to do with Lou leaving. I think him being involved in a brawl in high school was the reason. He never was a fit at ND. He was never an ND type of kid. Lou was a fantastic coach but the job just beat him up. He loved the school and was/is a fantastic ambassador for the school.from what I get figure C Zorich and T Rice would not get in today - Tony was a prop 48 thus he would not get in to ND today . Academics is the reason Lou Holtz left imo, that combined with how the Randy Moss situation played out made Lou not a happy camper .

Very good point. ND had the luxury of being the "cool school" to go to at the time.Hard to compare today with back then, when every top recruit was looking at ND. The pool of players looking at the Irish are smaller now so it's slim pickings, that's the landscape of college football today.
