Just curious how many spots ND would move up considering the clowns on the committee have ND 12th. I knew they would putt ND in the k wildcheats bracket. Plus i think Northwestern and Butler are bad match ups. I do have a way to beat Kentucky if ND gets that far. Verbal harassment, ND should be in k's ear asking quetions like, what is 2+2 and say your abc's.

The way i understand it. The number 1 team gets the weakest number 2 team or 8th over all seed and the weakest number 3 seed or 12th over all seed which would be ND. The secound number 1 seed would get the 7th over all seed etc.

I believe that plan is affected also by the geography concerns on conference protection for the top 4 seeds. I.e. if possible they try to prevent schools that are top 4 seeds from the same conference playing in the same regional as another top 4 seed. ND could conceivably been the 9-10 team ranked on the board following that plan but got booted to the midwest because of Duke and/or UVA preventing them from being in their regional.

Ether way ND got the shaft and there is no way Duke is a number 1 seed. They did not win their conf. Or conf. Tournament. I think there was some serious bias for Duke.

Interesting, the sports people kept referring to the rankings last week as the last rankings for the regular season. I guess they consider this a post-season poll? Thanks for the clarification.

I totally agree! There's more deserving teams than Duke in the tournament.
I feel the same way about UCLA being included in the Dance. They are not deserving, imho!!!

The committee apparently believes strength of nonconference schedule is more important than the strength of in conference performance. Not saying i agree, but its the only rational explanation for Duke being a 1 seed

Dukes out of conference resume is extremely hard to beat. Also outside their back to back slide nothing on the schedule is inexcusable. If ND hadn't beaten them twice but someone else in the top 15 had I would think an eyebrow may be raised but we would be focusing on it. The committee has said they value the overall body of work more then tournament performances for the top teams.

If they "value" the "body of work" explain UCLA making the Tourney.

Who are you going to put in there instead of them? I think the bigger surprise is that UCLA made the tournament so safely. But outside of Temple who really has a gripe?

you can see how the NCAA ranked all 68 teams here. ND was the lowest (worst) ranked 3, one spot behind UNC who they beat twice essentailly at home.

I just have a huge problem with this. show me the last time a team went 24-5 in the ACC, beat a one seed twice, won their conference tournament and was given a 3 seed, let alone the worst 3. id guess never.

Think the seeding is about right. We should make the sweet sixteen, and anything less would be underachieving this year. UK might be a better candidate for being upset at that point than in the championship game, and would love ND three point shooting to catch fire for an entire game and pull it off.
Have no quarrel with Duke's seeding as you can make the argument for or against. UCLA on the other hand, is difficult to understand applying the entire body of work standard.

NM - Misread the link. I think this information conflicts with how the committee chair described the process on Sunday.

Sal i'm not buying it. In years past the committee rewarded teams for late season success. Reminds me of the 92' 93' fb seasons and FSU. I'll be the first to admit i'm always seeing the "conspiracy theory" when it comes to ND. I also see black helicopters lol.
