Long time ago, in a galaxy far away, televised college football games would introduce the starters on offense and defense, including indentifying their academic major. Just watched the Alabama team accept the SEC Championship trophy. I don't have a clue what any of the players said.

They used to announce the starting line ups at the stadium long ago, and every time an opponent player was announced, the students would yell ..."Who's he?" That's taking it back to the 60s.

I remember those days well. ESPN, which doesn't give a damn about academics and the "student" aspects of "student-athlete," are the ones who started doing away with that practice, I believe.

As I recall, the student body would yell the word "sucks" after each player on the other team was announced.
