Golson Leaves: This opened the door for Zaire to be the "Caption Jack Sparrow" of the team he always wanted to be. It will probably force BK to run the ball more which helps our D and uses ND's biggest strength our OL. Plus we didn't have to hear about a QB controversy all summer.

Bryant Gets Suspended: With Bryant gone CJ Prosise can now show off his skills at RB. At least one of our freshman RB will get invaluable experience this year and we won't have to see the occasional "Greg Bryant looks disinterested/angry on the sideline" thread.

Jones Goes Down: It's never a good thing when a starter/player gets hurt but Jones not playing this year will give Tillery and Cage great experience and confidence for next season. Also, Jones' injury all but assures him comming back next year which means we will probably have 2 starters on the DL that are 6-5 300+ lbs. Jones,Tillery,Trumbetti and Rochelle in 2016 should be one of the better groups in the nation. And it will allow Rochelle to move inside more this season which he has said he prefers.

Tony Alford is Gone: While there is no getting around the impact Tony's departure will have on recruting, getting Denson back to ND to coach the RB's might be better for the team. Denson is a ND guy, he gets what is expected at ND, he's not just preaching ND football and acedemics, he lived it too. He is from Florida (where a lot of good HS running backs come from), He has ties to the NFL (played from 1999-2002), and he might be a better coach than Alford, ya never know. This might not be Denson's last stop on the coaching trail but getting a young motivated and hungry coach is a great thing for college football team especially one that has ties to the team.
