We Want Respect in 2015

Good Saturday Morning ARA---hope you're doing well this morning.
It looks like respect is on it's way. As you and LOU have said it has to be earned, not just in
college football, but in everything we do in life. The new and young staff, full of vim and vigor
are impressing one and all-----it will carry over on to the field. As SMITH/BARNEY once
said in a commercial ---respect is earned and won the old-fashioned way ---by deeds not BS.

In some corners Notre Dame will never garner the respect deserved because there is such a level of hate directed at the school and its fan because of the unmatched excellence over time.
This board is a great example of the misguided many who come here will overzealous hate to scorn all things Irish out of pure envy for all her accomplishments.
My feeling is that we quit trying to convert the mindless and celebrate the reality of Notre Dame, proud we are not like those who hate her.

You get respect by beating FSU in their house last season. You lose all that respect by losing to a woeful Northwestern at the stadium and getting trolley wonked at USC in front of the whole world. You get a little back by beating a decent SEC team in a bowl game when no one gave you a chance. I thought ESPN was fairly good to our program up to the BCS title game in 2012/2013. After that game, all hell broke loose that most in the media still won't let go. Of course, the groin punch FSU took against Oregon and the beat down Oregon took against OSU is long since forgotten by most media types. Simple philosophy. Win your games and the rest will take care of itself. On the flip side, FSU and OSU made it to the Final Four and this fan still doesn't respect them yesterday, today, or tomorrow.

This so stupid and idiotic that for once I'm almost at a loss for words.
You take hypocrisy to an entire new level with every passing post. "Mindless, hate, envy"? Just a few words that describe you to a tee.
Keep 'em coming. This is truly "Comedy Central" on a dreary Saturday afternoon.
I don't really think either Oregon's ass kicking of FSU or OSU's ass kicking of Oregon are already forgotten. I do think, that Notre Dame's loss to Alabama was beyond pitiful. They could have scored 80 on us and if they had been coached by the likes of Jimmy Johnson, they would have. Alabama just ran over a team that was supposed to be stout against the run. They made our offense like a high school team. The game was over by the end of the first quarter, and that's a lot different than either the FSU-Oregon or Oregon-OSU game.
FSU got beat far worse vs. Oregon than ND losing to a great team in Alabama. Hell, even using a rapist FSU couldn't stay within five touchdowns and Oregon could have scored five more!

I think experts will tell you that that year's Alabama team was the best college football team in the last five-ten years. Just look at the amount of pros they put into the NFL. That team would have killed OSU this year -- and killed FSU last year.
They were that good.
