came through with a close win, 84-80, at Clemson.

Westbeld apparently wasn't available to play ... Turner and Nelson in foul trouble practically all game.

Team looked good in spurts, sloppy at other times.

Refs were questionable ... let Clemson get away with too many apparent travelings.

this is a game that showed how much it has hurt our irish not bringing in another big in recruiting. when turner gets in foul trouble then it really hurts this team inside. what did you think IrishHerb of UVA stunning 4th ranked FSU. really thought FSU would come to south bend for the last acc game for both quads still tied for first place with our irish.

A bit stunning, yes ... but with the parity among college teams these days, any day when one team is "off" and another is "hot" a lower (or much lower) ranked team can beat a highly ranked team. In WBB, the one exception is probably UCONN ... but if such happened to them against a top 10 team, they can be beat.

Westbeld not the reason for close game with Clemson . Turner can't do it alone under the boards and must have help from other players . and we are not tall

Watching ND this year , players have lapses on defense , take it for granted that they will win with better talent . UConn is a little taller than ND . Butler 6'5", Sameulson 6'3" , Nurse 6'0", Collier 6'2" , Williams 5'11 , Dangerfield 5'5" . , and Auriemma's UConn team plays a hell 'ava better defense than ND . UConn sleep walks through a very weak AAC conference winning by an average of 40 points . Have to arrange games outside with Baylor, DePaul, ND , Florida State , etc if want to call it competition.

Plus UConn has signed # 1 high school player 6'2" Megan Walker and UConn does not lose any of their top 7 players for next year .watching UConn /South Carolina game , Auriemma on the sidelines was not the least worried about losing even with the tall excellent SC frontline .

ND more than anything has got to rev up their defense and it really hasn't happened consistently this year . A drop down a 2 seed this year

this really has been the big issue this year and if they don't fix it then they won't be beating UConn if they get to the final four. this team has the talent to win it all this year and next year but I just don't this team having much desire to play defense as hard as UConn does when I watch them play
