he seemed surprisingly accepting of what might be the most unlikely home loss in my lifetime....after our D line got pushed around all day and rarely got NIU offense off of the field, particularly in the last 5 minutes of the game....

Been concerned about the depth on the interior for a bit now. Haven’t recruited well thereHe's injured, despite the coaches playing it coy. He couldn't impact the game, so you don't get as pissed off as someone out there giving it all you have playing a ton of snaps.
It's why i've been saying, HUGE drop off next year at interior. We're seeing the drop off without having cross. They're doubling Mills a lot and Hinish is getting pushed around like an undersized MAC interior dlinemen that he is.

They had another FG off of an interception near the 50 in the first half as well. So 6pts.And gave up a grand total of 16 points, three of which were set up by an interception and runback to the 50 with 6:00 to go.
Dude, Cross is going to be a 1st round pick, or at least a fairly high draft pick, first three rounds, and he will be an NFL player. That's how you should refer to him. Not as a three star also-ran with a loser's mentality. For F's sake.Howard Cross - 3 star
Riley Leonard - 3 star
Notice how the guys who aren't really making that much of an impact (or their hype supersedes their impact) are a lot of times the guys who have middling prospect pedigree.
He’s currently busy on the phone with MAC coaches getting help and learning how to coachYou're concerned.
I'll email Marcus Freeman.
He better get healthy soon for that to happenDude, Cross is going to be a 1st round pick, or at least a fairly high draft pick, first three rounds, and he will be an NFL player. That's how you should refer to him. Not as a three star also-ran with a loser's mentality. For F's sake.
That has to be your weakest little argumentative gambit yet, diminishing all non-five star prospects.
You’ve been here for 4 days in every thread repeating the same thing. He’s currently busy on the phone with MAC coaches getting help and learning how to coach

Ouch! And you moonlight as a moderator posting the same two things: 1/ “I dont know why you bother responding to Chase” and 2/ Swiss Cheese.
You ascended to the board jackass, congrats, that’s a tough crowd to beat out.
You mean the same Howard Cross who made many All American teams last year and is projected to be a 1st or 2nd round draft pick ? Your star gazing continues to be idiotic. Be better.Howard Cross - 3 star
Riley Leonard - 3 star

I can tell you this for absolute certainly. Players and coaches don't have the luxury or time to dwell on the outcome of games good or bad. When I played the minute a game ended the focus shifted to the next game. It has to be that way unless it's the absolute last game of that season. There is little to no time for it.he seemed surprisingly accepting of what might be the most unlikely home loss in my lifetime....after our D line got pushed around all day and rarely got NIU offense off of the field, particularly in the last 5 minutes of the game....
Agree with this, but also, howard is in a unique situation where he's not capable of having his normal impact and he's not playing much.I can tell you this for absolute certainly. Well said.Agree with this, but also, howard is in a unique situation where he's not capable of having his normal impact and he's not playing much.
At least for me, maybe this was bad I don't know, but the feeling of a loss was different when you were a big part of the game plan, vs a little part, vs none at all. You never wanted to lose, but when you weren't involved, it didn't hurt as bad vs when you were playing the entire game and playing a big part of the outcome, losses really hurt.
But as you said, i moved on to improving the second the game was over after a loss. After a win, I enjoyed it for the rest of the day unless I played like crap.
I think howard is in a position he's more ticked off he's not healthy and can't go out and dominate the line like he can and have a huge impact on the game.
Alright, cool. That doesn't really answer the question. And coming from you you're just trying to tell someone to shut up which is all you do with any of your lamely dismissive, condescending posts. And having said that, what to make of HC3's post game demeanor after this shitty loss, who can say, you'd have to use your own judgement.I can tell you this for absolute certainly. You and Chase should get marriedAlright, cool. That doesn't really answer the question. If that's what you took from it so be it. I just gave an opinion based on a lifetime of experience both as a player and coach.Alright, cool. That doesn't really answer the question. I know, that's what you do every time. It's entirely possible, even likely that your assessment of what to make of HC3's personal reactions and answers in a press conference is completely wrong. And there is something to be gleaned from it. You'd have to have god-like omniscience to know what's in his brain, and other than that you have to guess what he might be thinking or where his head is at. Which I think is what the OP was wondering about. And according to you he's not thinking about anything, other than moving on to the next game on the schedule because that's what all athletes always do. Even though he may have been happier or acted different somehow if the result of the game had been different. And so it's not really true that there is nothing to see when it comes to a competitive athlete's post game demeanor. If that's what you took from it so be it. Well yes when discussing football all my opinions are derived from my practical experiences. I never stated unequivocally what young Mr. Cross was specifically thinking at that given time. I find the fact that someone would be troubled by his response surprising. Expecting players/ coaches to respond or react like a die hard fan would is just not realistic. Perhaps my experience based opinion was able to help the OP understand why Cross MAY have displayed the demeanor he did.I know, that's what you do every time. I don't know this fact certain for all, but I would bet ND players are going through some level of training on how to speak to media, how to use social media, navigating NIL and offers, etc etc.Well yes when discussing football all my opinions are derived from my practical experiences. No doubt they do especially in the age we are living. I played from 87-91. I bet I didn't get interviewed more than a dozen times. No social media presence back then. Pretty much local/state coverage only except when we were on ABC or another network. There wasnt the college football presence on ESPN then that there is now. No conference networks. Guessing players at every school get some sort of media guidance.I don't know this fact certain for all, but I would bet ND players are going through some level of training on how to speak to media, how to use social media, navigating NIL and offers, etc etc.
I started having some level of training/advice on speaking to media (back then it was reporters) when i was 15/16 over 25 years ago. You learned quickly on staying calm, not saying too much, complementing your teammates, etc etc. Of course you really wanted, at times, to say something else, but it wasn't the right place to do it.
Yep....... i never made it past a few reporters with either a note pad and or a recorder. No doubt they do especially in the age we are living. I played from 87-91. Never saw this as a dominating D-LINE.Been concerned about the depth on the interior for a bit now. Haven’t recruited well there
The defense wasn't the issue. The D is fine. They held NIU to 16 points. The defense was on the field over 9 minutes more than the offense.
The offense and the QB were terrible.
