I'm in South Bend for the Blue-Gold Game. I spent about an hour on the field before the game watching the recruits roll in. Here are some observations.
- Five-star (2023) DE commit Keon Keeley is by far the most popular player here. Fans near the player tunnel requested Keeley to take pictures and sign autographs. He spent around 5-10 minutes in the stands with the fans.
- When Keeley came down, he said, "I have never felt this way before." He was visibly in awe of the environment and looked right at home.
- I saw 2023 linebacker commits Drayk Bown and Preston Zinter together today. To no surprise, both guys are 100% committed to Notre Dame and right at home. Both guys have great size and look the part. Zinter said he will early enroll.
- Four-star (2023) OT target Sullivan Absher (6-foot-7) was the largest player in the group. By my observations, Absher was the first recruit to enter the stadium.
- Four-star (2023) OL target Austin Siereveld had the biggest smile as he walked down the tunnel. Siereveld made sure to slap every fan's hand. He appeared to be a bundle of joy.
- Four-star (2023) safety target Caleb Downs made a quiet arrival. He seemed cool, calm and collected.
- Four-star (2023) TE prospect Lawson Luckie — a Georgia commit — seemed to be giving Notre Dame an authentic, honest look. Luckie was one of the first arrivals into the stadium. He was soaking in the environment. I am looking forward to learning more about Luckie's Notre Dame interest in the coming days.
- Four-star (2024) defensive end target Brandon Davis-Swain is in town today. He is another guy that's excitement stood out. He is a long and lengthy kid.
