Sometimes, its hard to remember these are kids just trying to live their dream, and maybe our dreams. But the difference is, they are there doing it. Hard to watch videos like this and see the emotion.

I feel the pain in Malik Zaire watching this video. He had everything he ever dreamed in his hands and now everything is a big question. What I also see though is the power of the special place called The University of Notre Dame. Malik will make a full recovery but his future is not entirely in his hands now. What I hope he knows and what comes through for recruits as well is Notre Dame is more than just football and as a family it will take care of its own. God bless Malik Zaire and a speedy recovery.

Brutal. Rips at my heart. They were talking about this episode on radio this afternoon. For what it's worth, all of Irish nation supports MZ and wish him a speedy recovery.

Just tear jerking to see a kid like this finally fulfill a dream and have it ripped away from him. Hopefully he heals well, and fast. And can bring that great big heart and personality back as soon as possible.

Talking about Malik and injuries. Might be a good time to take down that hit video... These are all kids who have dads and moms and brothers and sisters and friends, like Malik.

I hate watching that hit. My kid is a high school senior and I dread each game that my son could be the victim of such a hit, yeah, it's football, but I don't think seeing kids hurt should be celebrated.

IBlooded, time to show some class and take that down. Do it for Malik.

MZ will be a success on or off the field. You can just tell he has IT. And as we all could see how the ND family rallies around him and the "next man in". ND is a very special place.

Get better soon Malik.

Let's not get carried away here...that was a good, clean hit (regardless of what the sympathetic official thought), that did not injure Gardner. If that was the hit that Malik took on Saturday vs the roll on his leg, we wouldn't be having this conversation.
