Not a lot of detail, or smoke blowing, but he was fine. You can argue that his defense is too complex to take full advantage of young physical talent, but he is neither dumb nor incompetent. Let's see what he does with this year's mix of talented (but not star-powered) veterans and a very athletic young group before throwing him to the curb.

I disagree with Gayfriend. BVG is going to get coach of the year honors for 16.

Loved BVG's hire and then soured on him as the defense seemingly played worse with time. Stepping back from last season, and better appreciating the impact of injuries on what schemes he could use, etc... I enter this year thinking he finally has the right kind of players for his system, and we have every reason to be optimistic. This is one of those times when "most improved" would really mean something.
