With the UT game just over 2 weeks away and this being the home opener it is setting up for a pretty big visit weekend for guys still our there in the 2016 class. People that are expected to be coming from the class outside of those already committed are:

Demetris Robinson 5* Athlete
Lamar Jackson 4* Safety
Donte Vaughn 4* CB
DJ Morgan 3* S/LB
Chanse Slyvie 4* S (OU Commit)

In addition there will be 5-6 2016 commits coming to the game including Bordeaux as well as recent 2017 OT commit Lugg.

If the Irish win on the field this year they will win in recruiting just like in 2012 (with the 2013 class). Thanks for the update Sal.

It looks like DJ Morgan is the best fit at ND out of those recruits since he is the only 3 star. Haha !

I'll be there also and I'm listed as a five star fan. As a matter of fact, I sit not too far from where the recruits and their families hunker down. Some of the ND students seem to know who these recruits are when the prospects are on the sideline during pre-game. Our Freshman and Sophomores yell out words of welcome and encouragement and that is a very good thing.

Again, James Aldridge was given all his HS accolades during his Junior season. Then he had a serious knee injury in the last game of his Junior season and the lad was never the same...... in HS or college. If any of you would have actually watched James his Junior season in HS you would know that the kid was unstoppable. USC thought so. There is a lot more to his story than being labeled "unrealized potential". His "unrealized potential" earned him a full ride to ND, scored a TD on national TD in front of his family, received his degree, and now he is working to earn a spot on the national rugby team (last I heard). Not too shabby for "unrealized potential". You just can't go around painting with a broad brush a one size fits all picture. The same applies to Tommy Rees who was never meant to be a starter in the first place but that never stopped Irish fans from labeling him a complete wash. Harsh expectations for a QB who was recruited as a career back up.

High star recruits was only one of Mack's problems. Also lets be real the biggest thing that hurt Aldridge was that he seemed to have lost a step from knee injury and we knew about the injury before he got on campus.

It was more than losing a step. He at times ran tentative which he never ever did his Junior year in HS. That's why all the notice came his way in his Junior season. He ran tentative his Senior season, enough for his own fans and opposing fans around the area to pay attention. He did the best he could after a serious knee. I'm glad ND kept his offer alive after the HS injury. He did his HS, our region, his family, and ND proud.
