Notre Dame continues to evaluate ways it can improve the depth on its roster, and that even extends to the preferred walk-on running back/special teams contributor market.
The Irish hosted former Central Michigan running back Jake Tafelski this past weekend. Jeff Douglas captured a photo of him at Saturday's Blue-Gold Game.
Tafelski spent four seasons with the Chippewas but redshirted as a true freshman in 2020. The 6-foot, 220-pound product of Dearborn (Mich.) High played in 25 games at Central Michigan with most of his snaps occuring on special teams. He totaled seven carries for 21 yards and one touchdown and six receptions for 42 yards in his CMU career. He also recorded six tackles.
Tafelski is a graduate transfer with two seasons of eligibility remaining. As long as he gets into Notre Dame, I like his chances of ending up with the Irish.
