Unbelievable endig to the FSU game

Moving on up. Utah looking like it's over, FSU going down, our only loss just beat Miami by 58, nobody in front of us looked that great!

I really don't want a kid injured, but Baylor's QB may be done on the year. Too many weeks left for stuff to happen to think if this ND team wins out they won't get in. That's a big challenge though.

USC crushing Utah. ND absolutely moves up two spots. 9th and a chance to show against a top 25 team in their house.

Great news all around and should get us all looking ahead, but I hope the team has on their blinders. They have a tough slog ahead, coast to coast on the road. Assuming things go as we hope, every team we play from here out will be playing their biggest game of the year. The last week will be a death march (playing an amped BC team in Fenway with a week off to prepare and then flying from Boston to South Bend to Palo Alto in the same week, ouch)

You make a good point there grace. No matter who you are playing, a game on the East Coast one week and then on the West Coast the next is not a good idea.

This will certainly be an unpopular post, but the BC game is the ultimate trap game. They are not a good team, but their D is solid and they have a bye week to prepare for an what will be a cold/weird set up in Fenway. It will be a very physical game and I suspect very unpleasant to watch. Irish will need to be all business and recover in a hurry to be ready for likely the most complete and physical team we play this year on the opposite coast

Other than Stanford, I'm most concerned about Pitt. I don't think traveling from Boston to ND to Stanford is an issue. These guys are used to travelling and it's not as if they have to play in the morning trying to wake up.

I couldn't agree more. First off, the way our schedules are set up always seem to have a weird set up like this. Plus, we're going BC wearing those stupid green uniforms. You know what happened the last time we wore green against BC. It's like wearing red in front of a bull.

What a way to lose

So, DIP, what did you think of the decision to try the long field goal? This was similar to Alabama-
Auburn a couple of years ago. That thought crossed my mind. You try to kick long, you end up kicking a line drive that is easier to block.I just wonder about why not trying to go to OT.

What a finish. Love seeing FSU go down. Golson I think through an INT - was it in the red zone ? Either way, happy for G Tech - EG has played well vs. the weak teams that FSU has played. Has been playing w/in himself. I watched this game off and on - missed the ending. came back and watched the highlight of the ending. unreal finish. EG does not look like a future NFL QB IMO - I know he has played well, but he is just not very impressive - holds the ball too long - seems to stare receivers down - just does not seem to have the "it" factor that a really good QB needs to be good in the NFL.

Not this year. BC is terrible. The offense is pathetic and they lack skill guys on both sides of the ball. Don't think it will even be close.

One game at a time guys. Temple is no easy win. ND has to play well to win. Remember, regardless of what opponents stats say, when any team plays ND, the Irish always get their best shot. every team left will play the Irish as hard as they can. ND needs to rise to the challenge.

the old adage is you go for the win on the road and play for the tie at home.

Maybe, but it seems to me that you can't put in all big slow guys who protect the holder and kicker and have no plan "B" to defend against the return. That's exactly how it was explained when Auburn had their return against Bama a few years back. It made sense then and it makes sense now.

I sgree. BC defense has been their strength so a turnover or even fluke play could be a deciding factor.
