'Twas the month before Christmas, when all through PDub,
Fine ladies assembled to watch the Glee Club.
With temperatures dropping at an alarming rate,
all Domers ran to class hoping not to be cold or late!

Inside the Gug, the football team prepped for one last game,
while waking up the echoes of Old Notre Dame.
The student body hurled marshmallows on Senior Day,
as the band spelled out ‘Irish’, the Victory March they did play.

With finals approaching, students studied during long nights,
And a few stopped by to watch Dillion Hall’s lights.
Carroll Christmas, a celebration so hearty,
was attended by anyone who wanted to party.

The campus, all decorated with Christmas trees
left no one at all feeling ill at ease.
The boys dorms sang carols for every girls dorm,
and though doors were slammed they still did perform.

The great dining halls, both South and North,
made Christmas dinner for all, with eggnog poured forth.

The alumni were nestled all snug in their beds,
With dreams of Leahy and Holtz in their heads;
While the students at the Grotto, down by the lake,
Were just giving thanks for a long winter break...

But wait, the Irish have yet a bowl to play,
It’s the Fiesta Bowl vs. Ohio State on New Years Day.

With a strong and proud leader, a fire in his belly,
I knew right away it was Coach Brian Kelly.

As fast as Four Horsemen, onward they came
He whistled, and shouted, and called them by name:
"Now Smith, Now Brown, Boyd-Day, and Newsome the Punter
On Russell, Nelson, Stanley, and Torii Hunter."...

Kelly commanded the team on first down to throw,
Through hail and through fog, through sleet and through snow.
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
Urban and Ohio State were finally dead.

ESPN was unhappy that we won that big game but
"Merry Christmas to all. And love thee Notre Dame!
