True freshmen appreciation thread.

Anthonie Knapp, Aneyas Williams, KVA, Leonard Moore, Bryce Young. Kudos for playing such crucial roles in NDs success this season. Have we ever seen this many true freshmen be so impactful at one time ? The future is incredibly bright for sustained success.
What I like is the Freeman and staff are not hesitant to put in freshman if they are ready -- whereas Kelly, did not want to do that (or, did not appear to want to play freshman).

It's a real testament to the staffs ability to get the young players up to speed and to the players themselves for putting in the work. Spring practice is also a huge benefit to the early enrollees.

Agreed. When you have this many young players making an impact you know your coaching staff is doing things right.

Amen., say this all the time. And if they were in, he didn’t allow them to play, showcase their ability. It was always a crutch/excuse to being playing a freshman.

All have made great contributions, but Moore in particular deserves recognition. Can’t play man coverage (which has been the team’s cornerstone) without his surprisingly good performance
I could not agree more; Moore's play has been astonishing to me. To play as a true freshman at a position where mistakes are likely to be exposed in a very big way and play as well as he has is just remarkable. On top of that he is often playing man coverage and is left alone on an island, and yet he has shined. The kid seems to have ice water running in his veins. I am trying to think of a play where he has been beaten badly this year and I cannot think of even one. What a find he has turned out to be. After Morrison went down things were looking a little bleak but with Moore stepping in and playing as well as he has our secondary hasn't missed a beat.

Kid is awesome.
Correct me if I’m wrong but I’m pretty sure Chance Tucker was the #3 on the depth chart before his ACL injury.
To me that says a lot about what we have for really good players.

I think the key is, that with the style of defense ND plays, you can't mind getting called for holding or PI playing cb. Others have said it on here. Force the officials to call holding or pass interference.

Never read this thread.....but spot on. Can't think of a season where ND had this much impact from freshmen....when it is needed the most.
