IMO Kraemer has been the second best offensive lineman on the squad this season. He has been destroying fools in the ground game and he pulls like a 295 pound guard. I think the staff needs to go ahead and let him just hold down the right side without all the shuffling. The freshman Hainsey can come in every 4th series.

Just one guys opinion.

I think the very next play after Crawford fumble recovery in the end zone, TK washes his man down and pancakes him beautifully after a 5,6 yard drive block. Adams ran for around 30 on this play.

I think Kraemer is the second best run game blocker on the offensive line, second only to Nelson. Frankly, I would be tempted to say the same of Hainsey! On passing plays, I cringe when I see some speed rusher fly past either of these guys with a damn near direct path to Wimbush, and watching Kraemer in particular try to get lateral movement to handle this kind of player can be painful. That said, I think both, and Kramer in particular, are definitely improving in the pass protection game, and improvement seems week to week. There's no question that playing both like this is providing invaluable experience for each, but seems to me we are past time to pick a winner and ride that guy for the rest of the season. Kraemer would be my pick, but that's absent a sense for what they plan for next year. I thought Kraemer was Nelson's heir apparent and too talented to keep off the field in the interim, but thought this was also the reason for playing Hainsey at RT as a true freshman, assuming he would hold this position by himself next year. However, based on projections by guys like IIO that know the game better than me, It looks like Kramer is increasingly projected at RT, which confuses me as I thought he was perfectly skilled to be a guard. All very confusing to my eye, and look forward to reading some informed opinions.

I think he will slide inside to take Q Nelson's spot. I like the rotation at RT for right now.

Kraemer will be a guard long term. He'll likely slide to LG. He's a lot like Bars. Not an ideal athlete in pass protection to play tackle long term. I have it...

2018
LT: Eichenberg
LG: Kraemer
C: Mustipher
RG: Bars
RT: Hainsey

2019

LT: Eichenberg
LG: Kraemer
C: Hainsey
RG: Banks
RT: Lugg

IIO- can Eichebrrg and Kraemer be as good as Nelson and Mcglinchy?

He's getting better every week. mustipher is quietly having a fine season also. Harry H is the best in the biz.

IIO. For some reason I thought you were projecting Kraemer at RT next year. The way you have it here makes perfect sense to me and aligns with ,y earlier expectations. Under this scenario, and back to question posed in the OP, I would agree with Pennick to keep the rotation going. Gets valuable game experience, for two young studs who will start next year.

I really agree. The prospect of Kraemer, Mustipher and Bars anchoring the middle of the line is exciting.

Kraemer strikes me as more Nelson than McGlinchey.

Hainsey as a center! That is a new thought to me.

Hainsey is highly intelligent can move well when pulling and has center size. He's 6'4, 290lbs. He'll be maybe 305lbs at his most ideal weight. That's projects best as a college center, not tackle. The Zack Martin's of the world are exceptionally rare.

IMO, Eichenberg can better than McGlinchey, who isn't Stanley or Martin. Both were much more complete players. That said, you'll be hard pressed to find another guard better than Quentin Nelson at Notre Dame. I'm not talking on the roster, I'm talking in the foreseeable future. He gets anninsane amount of love from NFL scouts. He's nearly perfect. Kraemer don't ever be that good, IMO, but he could be excellent... When you add those two together, they balance out pretty well in terms of upside, IMO.

Mike McGlinchey is a starting NFL right tackle... He's a really solid college left tackle.

Kramer should have started at RT last season imo. He stoned the great d-end from BC on a couple of plays. He struggled some but it wasn't an overwhelming mismatch when that d end went up against the Hainsey. That kid lived in the Clemson backfield this past weekend so they were going up against a future pro. The Georgia OLB's wore all of our tackles out in the pass game so it was hard to not give everyone a failing grade in the pass game except for Nelson.

Kramer will be a top 15 pick when he decides to leave. Right that down in red ink.

I agree Penn. I Hope Bars stays another year. Mustipher will for sure. Nelson is re'ally a great lineman. He maybe the best Guard I have ever seen at ND and I've been a fan for 40 years. TK though has great upside.

Kelly's assessment:
“Tommy – look, extremely physical, and that showed itself on film. He’s throwing guys around, literally. Hainsey is a beautiful pass setter. He’s about as flawless as a pass setter as there is in college football at his age.

I mean, he’s a young player, so that’s showing itself in practice, and it’s translating into games.” ~ Brian Kelly
