Any UtD spies in attendance today? Curious how the place looked and felt.

More importantly, how the boys looked! On both sides of the ball.

I think it starts in an hour or so -- I'm in La-La land so I won't make it.

Any info is appreciated.

Go You Irish.

Would also hope that we could get some reports from the practice?
Can't wait for the start of the season !

DL getting good pressure but I hope that does not say more about out RTs than it does the DEs.

DBs have been beaten badly a few times.

Two missed FGs.

Nice td pass from Davis to McKinley to end the game. Also, nice catch for Brock Wright from Van Gorder. (Was waiting for Kelly and they showed some of the end of the game.)

Apparently Kevin Stepherson did not touch the field. WTF is going on!? Also Kraemer major struggles today. Not surprising seeing as he is a wide bodied guard. Eichenberg starting RT at some point this year

None of this scrimmage matters ! It is all a little dress rehearsal for the huddled masses !
The Irish are going to kick a$$ this year !!

There are more important things to worry about !! The Knight King and the White walkers and the Army of the Dead are coming for us all !!!

We're all safe under the guardian spirit of Chesty Puller, so we can continue to have worry free discussions about ND football. The post scrimmage conference was interesting. True freshmen whom Kelly said were no longer on the bubble were Myron Amosa, Hinish, Kmet, Wright, Young, and Genmark-Heath. Hard for me to believe that Ewell gets red shirted, but all reports say he really needs coaching to learn technique, although he is college football strong coming in.
The other take away was more and more spoken support for the progress Kareem has made over the past year. If Kareem produces as expected when he committed, then we have more flexibility for playing J Hayes on the interior to spell Bonner, and that would be huge.

BW's passes were impressive but, other than that, the scrimmage was pretty bland. The stadium is in a different stratosphere. The jumbo is huge and I found my eyes drawn to it way too often instead of watching the action on the field. The north scoreboard is gone. The visitor's tunnel is so narrow that I believe they have to enter the field in a single file line and I'm not joking. The ribbon board is pretty cool but sometimes I forgot it was even there. They moved the flagpole to the south end so all eyes will be looking in the same direction for the anthem (Jumbo and flag). The concourse, concessions, and bathrooms are incredible. TV monitors everywhere you go. Goodbye troughs. Another tradition goes by the wayside. They have painted ticket replicas from games past on the walls in the concourse.

I watched the first half inside in the expensive seats. With the doors closed it is very sterile - very quiet, can't hear the band or the crowd. I felt like I was watching the game at a country club out the window of the clubhouse. Love the new board and being able to see the replays.

Troughs are gone! Scandal. They always made me think I was going to go back to my seats and see guys with leather helmets banging heads. Throw-back but it is time for change.

Thanks for the updates. I always wondered at what speed do the players go in these types of scrimmages? 3/4 or 1/2? It is clear they are not all in to avoid injury and given what we've suffered recent pre seasons, I'm happy about that.

They are all over the Internet as well as were provided by another poster in this very thread

I've been saying for months that I doubt that Kevin Stepherson is going to play into 2017 and it wouldn't shock me to see him transfer in short order. All the the talent in the world, but he apparently has not bought into what the coaches are asking of him, or he's dealing with some kind of residual punishment that nobody is talking about... Either way, it's a damn shame, because he would be the perfect compliment to EQ at the X position and is one of ND's few threats to take the top off he defense... But hey, I'm totally in favour of him sitting on the bench if he's slacking or if he has a bad attitude.

My brother and I commented about the poor season ticket holders that show up to their seats and realize they now get to look at a newly relocated flagpole LOL. I think they would be better served to use the ribbon boards to display the down and distance, maybe they will. The place is brand new you will realize how bad this needed done. Very impressive.

Visitors tunnel is very narrow and the players do have to enter in a single file line. But this is by design. Think about it.

Yep. I realized the narrow tunnel and the reasoning behind it almost instantly. It takes time for the visiting team, coaching staff, and support personnel to get on the field and it takes time to get back into the locker room during halftime, which might mean less time for halftime adjustments. I'm sure the word is out and programs like Georgia and USC will have this problem figured out. I didn't see the visitors locker room but the tunnel ushers told me they were decent enough. I'm surprised the NCAA doesn't do an all out investigation into the narrow tunnel controversy with 24/7 on the spot reporting from ESPN, circumventing all LL WS coverage.

I found it funny that Kelly said the identity of the team is taking shape and they will be a run-first team, yet during the scrimmage he chucked it all over the field. He can't stop himself.

Yes, by all means show the opposition what you ve got. The only thing funny is your lack of even the most pedestrian knowledge of the game of football.

Okay fake Coach. Time to do Kelly's laundry. I love each year when you Kelly worshipers have to eat s***

Why do you love when "Kelly worshipers" have to eat it? I thought you would trade being wrong about BK for a successful ND program, at least for the player's sake. I know I would. You don't have to send BK a Xmas card every year but at least provide positive support for our players. We all know BK's short comings but it's about the players. Let's hope David Pollack, Trevor Matich, and Randy Cross are all right about this season.

After listening to Mike Frank's power hour, they are very pleasantly surprised with the defense. The d line were more than holding their own. Does that mean the offense is overrated?
Bring on the Owls!!
