Thoughts on the game

Offense:
Terrible offensive line play. Terrible!
Slow developing running plays
I do think Long stuck with the run to try and shorten the game. Fine. Liked it.

No option calls. No pitch outs. No reverse plays with CJ Sanders.
No jet sweeps.
Still hate the read option- it sucks.
The screen game execution was terrible. These are things that should have been part of the game plan and better executed.

Not having Stepherson is killing the passing game. Smythe, Canteen, splitting a running back out wide in the passing game is a joke vs a good defense.

Defense- played lights out. Tillery looks awesome. Corners and Safeties were great.

Coaching & Development
How can you watch Dexter Williams on special teams all over the f'ing place and not give him one
F*cking carry? The kid has such a burst.
One of the best athletes on the field.
Adams was grinding but was banged up in the game. How do you not see that? The guy is limping- I can see it from the stands.

If CJ Sanders & Chase Claypool can't be developed as receiver options then that a huge problem with the coaches. Your telling me they aren't better than what's out there. C'mon. At least use Sanders in jet sweeps or reverse plays a few times.
I don't care if Claypool drops a ball or two. Get him out there.

Splitting out Canteen, a running back and Smythe is laughable against a top notch defense. Really?

If the blueprint is playing deep cover 2 and shadowing EQ then these better athletes better be used now.

The team is in better shape. 100%

Sanders wasn't bad in the slot last year. How in the hell is Canteen on the field in front of him?

Against elites athletes and elite Ds- Claypool has to be out there. Take your chances w drops.....

Surprised you guys didn't try to feed St. Brown more. Our CB played well on him and was physical but likely would've drawn more PI calls, which in turn would've give you some momentum to go HUNH. It was clear you weren't going anywhere with the ground game. I would've employed a similar strategy that Indiana did against Ohio St in first half - force feed your stud in the passing game and let him make plays.
