I finally have a little time off so I looked at the Irish roster for the first time in a long time. I am getting prepped for the GREAT season ahead.

These are a few All American candidates for this season.

Ian Book----tons of experience and success. A dual threat QB who is not afraid to carry the team late in games.

Kyle Hamilton---- Future probowler !! He has a year under his belt--I look for him to have a Honey Badger type year.

Braden Lenzy--- Rocket 2.0 !! Is all I'm saying !

Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah---- The guy is a stone cold killer !! A cross between Benny Blades and Ray Lewis !! I expect him to have a Manti type year and DOMINATE!! JOK is no JOKE !!

Drew White---- The dude loves to hit people and inspire his teammates ! Reminds me of another Drew--- Drew Tranquill !!

Aaron Banks !!----- Reminds me of another Aaron ! Aaron Taylor !

Jacob Lacey ! Jayson Ademilola ! Jacob Lacey ! Daelin Hayes !Adetokunbo Ogundeji !Hunter Spears ! Ja'Mion Franklin ! Kurt Hinish ! Myron Tagovailoa-Amosa !! Ovie Oghoufo !! Kofi Wardlow ! Justin Ademilola !!
Isaiah Foskey !!! The best Dline in football !!

A GREAT Oline led by AaRon Banks and Robert Hainsey !!

Well I could go on and on about all the talent this Irish team has but I have other things I need to do !

The Irish have no weaknesses at all !! They will make the playoffs
and I believe will come up BIG and win it all !!

I don't even follow recruiting much anymore because of the great talent that is coming in and getting DEVELOPED !!

Go Irish !!
Sink Navy 50 to 10 !!

Long ago Coach Parseghian said he recruited and developed players to win at ND, not the NFL. BK learned a lot from Ara, I wonder if he learned that lesson too? He certainly recruits and develops players to win here. We've seen him on several occasions opt for a three star player over four star options. The NFL seems to like them too, just like with Ara.

Bodi, I share your enthusiasm for the talent on this team. Two of our running backs need to step up and distinguish themselves from the pack of mediocrity; and our receivers need to show that their considerable individual and collective talents are a hell of a lot more important than experience.

I frankly don’t share your enthusiasm for Banks. Had really high expectations for him last year, but thought he was really poor as a run blocker. Too much weight and too slow in my opinion; and he more than any other player, might be adversely affected by not being on campus under the watchful eye of Balis. Just concerned that he might be putting on even more weight, rather than getting down to a better playing weight. We saw the same weight issue with Kraemer the year before, and he came back last year with less weight and better conditioning and was having a really good year until he got hurt. At any rate, I think Lugg should start over Banks, but this might require moving Hainsey to center or guard as Lugg seems better suited to OT. Regardless, lots of talent and depth with the OL and Banks needs to be a hell of a lot better to keep his starting position in my opinion.

Really excited about the potential of this defense. I think safety play might be elite with Hamilton and Pryor and Griffith. Corner is a concern, but I think Bracy will show up big this year, and Crawford is really good if he can play an injury free season. The new transfer from N Carolina State will be in the mix and I’m hoping one of last year’s freshmen steps up big and forces his way onto the field.

Really good team overall. I think ND is good enough to go 11-1 in the regular season, if they stay relatively healthy.

10-2 or 11-1... I'd be dissapointed with anything less. I don't think this is a playoff team, unfortunately, but I like ND as the favourite in all but one game on their schedule (Clemson).

Anything less than 11-1 is a disappointment.

I think that's a completely realistic take this year. That said, I have ND losing to Clemson as of today (who knows what both teams will look like on the injury front come that time) and I think the USC and Wisconsin games will be neck-and-neck. Then there is an improved Louisville squad that will test ND throughout, IMO, and Pitt a team that returns a ton and gives ND complete fits, even when they're terrible.

A second loss among those 4 games wouldn't shock me in the least.

10 or 11 wins is my expectation for this team. I expect we will lose to Clemson. Wisconsin will be tough, Pitt is always tough for us. We will be having exams the Louisville and SC weeks I believe. They were already tough games. That will make it more challenging. 11 wins will be a really good season. Then hopefully we can win a NY6

I really don't think we need to worry about USC anymore until they get a good coach. Todd Helton = Charlie Weiss. And Brian Kelly owns USC- He knows how to negate USC'S speed.
We also have to many athletes to lose to Wisconsin. And a GREAT defense to not let Wisky control the line of scrimmage the whole game. Our offense will strike quick against them.

*** As for CLEMSON-- we are due for a GREAT upset and we got them at home in November and I hope it is cold ! But not rainy like the Michigan game:(.

I am really excited to see how the Irish use Braden Lenzy as I believe he is a GREAT playmaker like Percy Harvin.

I always enjoy your take on the Oline. I hope and maybe even expect Aaron Banks to correct himself and come into camp in GREAT shape as I expect him to want to be playing in the NFL. Some players get lazy when they know they are not eligible for the draft but the light turns on for them their last year. Telx, lets examine that the first couple of games.
I agree with you on Bracy and Griffith and especially Crawford. I just got tired of typing and had to go train--- I went to the Lake and did 5 sets of pullups, 3 sets of rings where I pull myself up on rings and lift up my legs (great for the abs and shoulders), 4 sets of dips, 5 sets of running up and down a steep hill followed up with a five mile run--- I am getting in shape for the College football season !!

I forgot about Josh Lugg ?!! What a stud !!

*** What about Tommy Eichenberg ?? He looks like a Viking !! But will he play like a Viking? I am eagerly waiting your reply !!

Go Irish !!
Sink Navy !! 50 to 10 like 2012 ! Which Dlineman will run a fumble back for a TD like Tuitt did !! One of the Greatest plays in Irish history !! What speed for a big man !!

Feel alot better about CB know though.

Agreed. I don't think we have elite CB's, but I think Lea is pretty damn smart and will protect them over the top with ND's safeties, which should be one of the strengths of the team despite some inexperience. I feel a lot better that both starters aren't going to be 5'8 and 5'9 and that Crawford doesn't need to play 50+ snaps per game. I just don't think that's reasonable for his body to handle. I really hope that one of Isaiah Rutherford or Cam Hart take a big step forward as the #4 corner this year. I really want some length at that position that is ready to play. McCloud can't be the only one.

We’re going to be in triple digits again today and thought I would get out for a good walk for exercise before it gets too hot. Still trying to get this damn stiff arthritic body to cooperate, and remembered your post here. Got physically exhausted just reading your exercise routine the first time, and decided to revisit this again in lieu of the damn walk! Damn impressive.

Walking is GREAT for you !! My Dad never did any exercise but walking and he lived to 90 !

It is! Never thought just walking would be my main form of exercise. I get seven miles of hilly walking in when my body cooperates, about twice a week; and about two miles of flat walking a day when it doesn’t. My days of pull ups and chin ups and running, etc... are a fading memory, but fortunate to enjoy these walks nonetheless. But like I said, your routine is impressive.

I think Banks came into the season with a foot injury which could be why he put on weight and was a disappointment last year. I am hoping he regains his form which will be huge for the ND offense!

That gives us quality starters. More importantly mickens only needs to find two guys ready to contribute this year ... Those two guys are still unknowns though

I agree we have many players who are definitely Frontline. Except schools like Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, Ohio State have a lot more of them. If we stay healthy, our secondary is not a liability, our offensive line blocking improves with our running game, then I agree that we can make the championship playoffs. We have tough games against Wisconsin, USC, and Clemson will be the defining moment for the program. Keep up the good work
