The tackle total between Nyles Morgan and Tevon Coney is neck and neck !! Greer Martini is not far behind !! the best linebacking unit we have had in decades !!! Nyles Morgan is a Killer !! He almost crippled a couple of wide receivers with bone jarring hits !! Greer Martini is a tackling machine !! Tevon Coney reminds me of Mike Singletary !!
The Irish are better than all the teams they play the rest of the season--There is no excuse for not winning out ! The Irish are Road warriors and will show it against Michigan State next week !!
You got to love how Kelly is keeping aggressive late in games --- Book threw for the end zone with a little over a minute in the game !!
And what about the Red Zone play !! I think the Irish are perfect or near perfect in the red zone this year even against Georgia !! That is something we all need to quit complaining about !! Maybe it is a good thing we can't pass ? The four Horseman of the Apacolypse Adams, Wimbush, Williams and Jones all scored TD's except Adams but he rushed for over 200 yards yesterday !! Durham Smythe was a blocking Machine yesterday !! And he caught the longest pass from Wimbush ! Alize Mack made like 6 catches without a drop ! Wimbush will get his passing improved !! Trust me !! Go Irish !! Beat Sparty !!

Read this morning that ND is 15 of 15 in the redzone - 13 TDs and 2 FGs.

If that's true, that's very impressive. I am not happy with the passing game. However, it's no coincidence that success in the red zone goes hand in hand with a strong run game.

Well when your team focuses on recruiting wide receivers it might follow that you should have a good passing game.

As to the OP, I agree about this group of linebackers. Love seeing a running back breaking through the first line of defense and then get stopped cold a yard or two in by one of this trio. Coleman came up from safety and had several big hits within a few yards of the LOS as well. Tackles for loss and turnovers were damn near totally missing from last year's defense, and we're seeing the impact in these areas of Elko's coaching.

I thought Julian Love played well. Even on that TD he was all over that tight end and JL kid hits like a truck. Also, how nice is it to have Shaun Crawford back there. Two picks, a fumble recovery and he nearly stripped that receiver on that TD. It was a great catch by the BC kid.

Tackling can always be better but this is such an improved defense! One week at a time.
