Temple Making Navy Look Like a HS Option Team

I enjoyed watching the 4-5 star Oline recruits that Temple has open up running lanes for their 4-5 star running backs. I also like how their 4-5 star wide receiver recruits got separation from the Navy secondary.

That is what is truly sad. Same could be said for Western Michigan......I get really tired of reading our "great" recruits who do not show up on game day.

Also why do our LB's, DB's & WR's not look as buff as penn state's????? They always look like they actually get bigger & stronger.

sheesh......

5*'s usually do well unless they turn out to be 'head cases' in which they end up their own worst enemy.

The problem with 4 * prospects is there are just too many and there is not enough talent differentiation to grade a high 4 to a lower 4. Expanding the Star system to 10 stars or going to the composite grading like we see over on 247 would give a better picture of a class.
Example 94-99 composite is a 4/5 star that usually is a target of Bama to tOSU.
ND has been considerably below that ranking on defense for a number of years. Mid to lower 80's is more descriptive. So that does tell why ND is struggling. And it contradicts the notion Kelly can recruit at a playoff level on defense.
And on OL, ND has recruited well but just outside the elite level. ND is not getting the Top 5 OL prospects with each class. So again, perception is not meeting reality.

And then factor in the talent disintegration that takes place once Kelly gets his claws into a kid! and destroys any confidences the kid may ever have had.

Thanks Jack!

Uh, could it be the coaching?

It baffles me how posters worry about hiring a "MAC coach"....Were Bob Davie, Ty Willingham and Charlie Weis "MAC coaches"? Yet, they failed. Only Brian Kelly can be considered a MAC coach..and he was D1 when Notre Dame hired him. So in reality, Notre Dame has no recent history of hiring MAC coaches. Whatever PJ Fleck will bring to the table at Purdue or Oregon...he will do so individually. We can just continue hiring the aforementioned and avoid the "MAC coaches"....no?

Let's all remember that kids that go to navy are different types of people. You don't see navy players getting kicked off the team for academics or cheating or possession of guns or fighting cops ect. That's because they go to the academy. I'm saying this because of all the dopes that said we should hire coach ken. Oh well he beat bk. Yea so did 8 other schools this year. How about we hire the nc state coach. ND needs a top tier coach.
